It took the S3 almost 2 months to sell 10 Million units. The iPhone 5 sold half of that (5 million) in one weekend. Keep in mind it still hasnt gone on sale in china which is the iPhones biggest market as well as other countries. Then there are those like me here in the USA that are waiting for the unlocked version to be released next month.

Wrong, the biggest market for the iPhone is in the USA and by a wide margin.

Me personally like iPhones better than Andriods. I use to be a fandriod but every single time I bought one after excessive use of app download, streaming movies, data use it always started to lag n freeze up. Apple is much more simplistic and powerful at the same time. I also love that its the only one of its kind where u have all these other phones running Andriod doing the exact same thing. I also love that the iPhone has its own App Store n has more apps than the play store!

Who really cares that it has MORE apps than the Playstore? There was an article recently that had statistics where there were 400,000 apps in iTunes app store that never have been downloaded. So clearly the amount of Apps means nothing.

And ill ask...of those some 600,000 apps(thats a guess) how many do you have and how many do you use regularly?

I also dont get your theory of iPhone being one of a kind while stating Android has many running the same thing. First of all that isnt true. They all dont run the same thing and all the iPhones ARE running the same thing and they all look alike.

Hopefully Apple can force Samsung to cough up more sales figures in court so we can all see how Samsung's real sales are greatly exaggerated.

OP: what ammunition is it you need to defend your choice if mobile device? Why not just respond with "I'm glad you enjoy your smart phone. I like mine too"?

I think Samsung sold 10 phones before iPhone came out in 2007.

 You would be wrong.

Why does that matter to you? I dont really care how many phones they have sold. Its not a contest for me. I buy a phone that suits what i want and they happen to make it.

When HTC decides to put a microSD slot in their flagship phones, ill probably consider theirs as well. Til then, i will not. Same reason i didnt buy a Nexus. I want a microSD slot. Now the Windows HTC 8X comes with 32 GB of space so perhaps id consider that one without a mico slot. 16GB i wont.

Who cares how many they've sold. Look at worldwide numbers, apple takes a beating in Europe.

Yet you saw the thread title, which is clearly about product sales, and decided to post how you don't care about sales...

Paradox...

I said it was not a contest for me and asked why YOU care so much about how many phones Samsung sells. And i dont care how many phones Samsung sells but it sure eats at you for some reason. My comments fit in this thread, you just dont like what i said is all.

Only similarity between the two is that Samsung stole the home button.

Like how Apple ripped off the iPods interface from Creative?

Shouldn't be to hard, considering Samsung is the largest smartphone maker in the world?

I would LOVE to see this so called article highly doubt there is that much apps not being used considering there's only around 700,000 thousand apps && u be suprise people like me who would LITERALY die without there phones use a lot of apps daily. Paying for stuff, GPS life saver, bored so I play some games.. Yeah my apps are ALL neccesary && how do u not get it iPhone has been the iPhone since it first came out its been only ONE phone.. Just more evolved than its predecessor but for Andriods however, every phone is the same with all other phone on the market if not a windows phone. Like they all look the same just different company/maker. Like I said before I somewhat like Andriod but iOS is run on ONE type of phone.. The iPhone which makes me like it just that much more. Again only my opinion.

Yeah but u get tired if constantly hearing "my phones better" or "iPhones suck" n me I'm very opinionated person I stay quiet for so long till u annoy me. It's not just with phones either I defend everything I had.. If I had a mp3 over an iPod touch (which will NEVER happen) I would still defend my mp3 till THEY shut up # call it stubborn or whatever else. It's just how i am can't help it #

Take your pick. I can post more but i think this is enough to ease your "doubt". Also there are 650,000 apps in the iTunes App store. Androids Playstore has 600,000 so they are right on their heels.

shame the ip5 doesnt have NFC or wireless charging though. Maybe apple are holding those back for 5s or ip6?

Security firm which goes by the name of MWR Labs demonstrated that a Galaxy S III can be compromised by placing two NFC enabled Galaxy S IIIs next to each other. NFC is used to transfer the exploit which in return gives full root access to the user.

Source: http://www.redmondpie.com/iphone-4s...t-photos-contacts-and-other-info-compromised/

I'd rather not have an NFC embedded in my iPhone than compromising my information.

a lot of people prefer android. I like widgets, native google maps and the flexibility of android over ios6.

I am really curious about these widgets, and what do you mean by flexibility? No puns intended, just curious.

well on android i can basically do anything with it out the box. Customization etc

widgets are placed on your homescreens and can auto update info so you dont need to open apps to see the info you want. They can also fucntion as toggle switches for turning on/off things like wireless, 3g, gps without having to dig into menus etc

e.g facebook widget (scrollable) can see friends updates without opening up the app.
picture.php

heres my "navigation homescreen" google maps traffic widget tells me what the traffic is like without having to open maps. Toggle switches for gps/3g data . The top widget tell me my location down to street name

picture.php

rss feeds can be displayed on homescreen using news reader widgets they come with the apps like pulse. I can swipe to my homescreen to see headlines dont need to open an app. If i tap them it launches the full app

picture.php

there's many more and every app on android that could use a widget comes with one. My phone is 3 years old and i'm upgrading soon but i think i'll stick with android as i like these features.

S3 is the best phone according to Techradar

Honestly, what's good about S3? The only good about it is because it "almost" looks like an iPhone. The phone itself is cheap plastic, no offense - but it's reality. And the UI is gloomy with neon color everywhere.

Go check the specialist site Techradar and hear from what they have to say. Don't stay in the well !
