Well, I've been through the first four and have reluctantly come to the fifth.
Waited through March — surely they will? Now April is marching on and no sign. The Apple gods remain unmoved.

Denial
— They can't possibly discontinue such a great device.

Anger
— How dare they not bring out a new version of this phone that suits me 100% perfectly? *Rant*

Bargaining
— OK, Apple, release a new SE and I promise to stay in the "eco-system". No more peeping over the fence…

Depression — Well, this, just… sucks… I am no longer a valued customer… *sad face*

Acceptance

SE is dead.

Oh, and Apple, that stage 3 Bargaining? Forget it. I (may) move over elsewhere, and take my desktop and laptop with me. :)

Heh, ho.

Who else has a phone like the SE?

I have friends who are sick over it, too, but not worth leaving the OS.
I should be clear, I realise there are no SE sizes elsewhere and to search for one is futile.
So, since I'll have to change sizes and get used to a whole new world of large, larger and super large… well then… I might explore further and see what else is on offer.

Anyway, my point was light hearted and please let's not turn this into another Apple Good Android Bad thread. There are enough of those.

Took me long time to leave SE as the best phone I had, switched to X with huge doubts if I can adjust to the new size, honestly, after over 2 months I would not return back to SE now which is surprise for me but it all depends how you use your phone (like running or something else where small size is better). I have SE in family still, it looks so small now when I took it again recently :) Still think there is a market for smaller phones, Apple should not ignore that...

This obsession is not good. I understand that you're probably exaggerating, but why not check out phones that are only slightly larger? The iPhone X/Xs is 5.5" but narrower. It's honestly not bad.
I don't see a 4" phone returning, ever.

The iPhone SE has shown back up in Apple's online store as clearance more than once this year after supposedly being "discontinued," only to sell out immediately. Has that happened with any other iPhone model? Not to mention that it still runs the current version of iOS, which was designed to support it.

I don't think it's dead. I'm predicting its spiritual successor will be announced either at WWDC or – I think my guess – this September.

Or they're trying to clear up inventory, maybe.

It's mythology like this that makes some people believe the SE was in high demand.

Apple has plenty of old SE stock if you want to buy one. It's been in stock since February.

I was the same way. I did not want to move from a smaller phone at all. I still think it's a giant PITA trying to use my XS one-handed my I'm walking around but I couldn't go back. The larger screen is so nice for games/video/etc.

It’s inventory that was excess from third-party retailers and carriers that was not sold, and is re-sent back to Apple, therefore Apple is clearancing those phones on their website. (The only marketing behind the SE for those clearance items, was from sites like this.)

Dope.

What I'll miss most about my iPhone SE when it eventually up and dies on me is how I could slip it into a shirt pocket and it would completely disappear instead of poking out by a few inches like my wife's iPhone XR does.

Truth. My XS still fits in all of my shirt pockets but it looks silly with some of them!

With the release of the Pixel 3a at £399, will Apple need to reconsider an updated SE?
The XR is popular but a much higher price point.

Personally I'd love to give up a plus sized phone for an SE2 and pair with an ipad mini 5.

The rumored iPhone 8 with A13 coming next year should meet that price point.
