So much this...
I *love* the flat sides.

I personally still use Bumper cases too. Bought a 20 pack in multiple colors off eBay from overseas and I swap them in/out and throw them out when they break down after a while, etc. At about $1ea, it's a no brainer and I love how minimal yet helpful bumper cases really are.

I used to use a thin case on my iPhone 5 (it is still working for me at the moment while I wait for the SE 2), but now I just use a sticker set for even more minimalism. I got one with chamfer protection. The strip around the outside covers the flat part and the chamfer. Just had to use a hairdryer to shrink it around the corners of the chamfer. Looks great (all in black) and is even smaller in my pocket.

That's totally awesome!!

For me, I love that the bumper allows it to be dropped (on flat surfaces) and be protected, but even more I love that it is super non-skid as I place it on the console in my truck and sedan and it doesn't move an inch.

iPhone SE has to be my favorite current iPhone design, with the X after it. Had the 5 32GB as my first iPhone, then the SE 64GB at launch last year. Smaller, lower price, and just as fast as the 6s was a win at the time.

I skipped the entire 6/7/8 series and just recently upgraded to the X, and the SE will be given to my dad to replace his (handed-down) Galaxy S4.

Waiting next year either for the upgrades to the SE, or pick up a current 128GB as a second phone.

The SE is downright magical to pick up compared to any other modern devices. You pick it up, and wonder if there's even internal components in there or anything beyond air

Kudos to you for skipping 6-8 haha, thats boss

I like my matte black 7 plus but that 6 design is so... bleh

The SE is indeed very awesome

Loving the jailbreak tweak 'little brother' to give the 4" screen the same real estate as iPhone 6-- scaled inthat resolution so I can take in more text
And more webpages.

Don't always use it but great when feeling a little too cramped and zoomed in
Did you do it in 11.3?

I love my iPhone 7, but last year in September, after years of using a cheap phone and being stubborn, my mother FINALLY got a smartphone and we got her the iPhone SE. It is indeed an awesome phone and I love the size and I think it was perfect for her. I probably won't go back to the SE myself but down the road you never know for sure.

No my SE is on 10.2 and will probably stay there forever. The battery life is great it runs well it’s tweaked out, and it has a more fitting UI without huge banners thoughtlessly on a small device

What I’m referring to is a jailbreak tweak

I was wondering how you managed to stay on 10.2 without the phone auto-downloading the latest update whenever it gets WiFi signal, AND THEN nagging you EVERY DAY to update. :D

Jailbreak tweak fixes that ;)

But also, if stock , tvOS 11 beta OTA profile blocks it

I have thought that if I ever purchase another iPhone (currently am not an iPhone user), I would like to stay on the major OS release that the phone shipped with -- forever. I've had two iOS devices slowly be destroyed by OS updates.

I didn't realize that jailbreaking was much of an option these days. I've seen a couple of folks around here talk about it, but I thought that the community had died off.

Can you still download apps from the app store?

My general rule of thumb is one major os upgrade and that’s about it then it gets really sloppy

I don’t know I probably can some might require iOS 11 but I can’t remeebr the last time I’ve installed a new app on it at the same time haha

I don’t regret 9.3.3 to 10.2 for raise to wake alone and listening to music and taking pictures without music stopping

I also am on 10.2 with no plans to go anywhere...
In fact, it's looking like I'll be skipping an iOS version completely (iOS 11) for my first time ever.

Granted it’s your decision, but you also leave yourself completely wide open and vulnerable to any malicious activity like Spectre and Meltdown as well. Not likely the most logical thing considering all the personal content most Have On iPhones.

And If your information is breached from such activity, I’m sure you would be inclined to believe that you wished you had upgraded to iOS 11.

Used to do the same on my iPhones and iPads. Broke it on A7 onwards. The iPhone 5s worked quite well up to iOS 10.3.3 and the iPad Air up to iOS 9.3.5 (possibly iOS 10, too, but I needed the Air on iOS 9 for certain things).

Currently have the iPhone SE (A9) on iOS 11 and it's as responsive as my iPhone 7 (A10) on iOS 10.

Agree with this. Being both jail broken and years behind in security patches is a dangerous game in this day and age. Plus there’s really no reason to cling onto an old OS, the SE runs 11.3 perfectly fine. Granted 11 was originally choppy on all the phones (even the X) but it’s matured now.

raise to wake is perfect my old iphone 6 didnt have it so annoying to press the button each time to unlock!!

That was actually a huge feature when Apple introduced raise to wake with the M9 Coprocessor. It also allowed for hands-free Siri as well versus having to hold down the home button to activate Siri.
