Total cost of ownership (i.e. initial outlay + contract * months ) differ by less than £1 across all combinations of contract, phone, and duration. Most of them are about 25-50 pence difference - over 18 months. In all cases, it's the Orange that's cheaper for what it's worth.
Minutes and texts are all identical apart from the 18 month Orange package which has double the minutes and texts of the O2 package. Other than that, they're all the same.
I've tried O2's data network and Orange's data network - and side by side where I am, Orange can justify the name Mobile broadband, but O2's is mobile dial-up (or worse). So 750 meg/month on 3G data, double the minutes and texts? I'll be going for the 18 month Orange 3GS 32Gb - and save a whopping 59 pence over O2
pay and go prices are basically identical.
