Ive had same issues as well, it’s not the iphone it’s a sky issue. Only way I found to fix it was to use a Wi-fi extender then link my phone to that rather than directly to sky mesh.
Glad I’m not the only one having this issue! Very frustrating! I will dig out and old Wi-fi extender!

I have issues connecting to FireTV stick and Mu-so with my X, via the Vodafone ADSL router we have. That router is a bit sketchier than our old Plusnet Fibre router setup tho.

OK so after nearly 4 weeks talking with Apple Care they are unable to solve this iPhone X and SKY Q issue.

We have taken every step possible sending detailed diag via iTunes etc to Apple engineers and they cannot offer a solution. I did suggest I install an Airport express and create a separate network with new SSID but even Apple engineer said I shouldn't need to be 'working around' an incompatibility issue.

The only solution that works for me is to split the WiFi into 5ghz and 2.4ghz and force the iPhone X to connect to 2.4ghz only.

Yes me too, the Wi-fi extender splits it out so I’m just connected that that and works fine

that's very annoying isn't it. that's what I'm having to do. at work when I move between 2.4ghz access points I get a delay sometimes and its falters even there. at home its fine on 2.4. this is very annoying!

thanks for letting us know.

I get the same issue with my 8+, all other apple devices in the house are fine (selection of prev gen iPhones, iPad air 2, iPad Pro 10.5, Mini2) using mostly latest iOS 11 (some older devices still on 10).

Very annoying issue, and didn't really want to split 2.4/5Ghz networks if I can help it...

I've had the exact same issue, but I had to swap my router with a 3rd party asus one as the sky Q one died and waiting for a replacement, and immediately the issue went away, everything is still working as it should - apart from the wireless mesh obviously now doesn't work but my house is small enough to get signal all over without the q boxes

Sky will never take responsibly that’s the issue. Whenever I’ve spoken to them about the poor sky q router they have said meh we don’t control wireless ... even though i don’t have blind spots on other routers .

I went from 22Mb on the sky Q hub to full 38Mb on the asus router, the q one is awful, not going to swap it back when I get the replacement

edit i had

I spent 3 hours on the phone when I first got it to sky complaining. his response was I'm a highly trained wifi specialist... and can tell you , you divide the speed you get ie 40mbs between how many devices you have on wifi... he said you have 11 so you will get around 3mb per device.

my response was I'm a lowly trained 2nd line IT technician and you are talking **** he wasn't going to accept it, said sky wont guarantee wireless performance (my old virgin hub which was awful got better coverage)

so I fixed it myself by tweaking everything I could think of. got the speed up from 22mb to 38mb. happy with that. I do wonder if all of us having troubles have tweaked the settings? or if its just a coincidence.

edit forgot to ask actually, does the sky q mini box work with a different router?

I used to have to do this with my old MacBook and BT Homehub. Id have a 5ghz network and a 2.4 ghz one.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with their iPhone X and SKYQ Fibre Broadband on Wi-Fi ?

The issue I have is that on Wi-Fi sometimes webpages / Facebook / imessages stop refreshing almost like the internet has disappeared. The blue bar on safari at the top goes about 15% the way across the screen and stops. This happens when the iPhone is using the SKYQ mini boxes as hotspots.

All other iPhones / iPads work fine but the iPhone X doesn't seem to hand over well from main router to SKYQ mini hotspots.

SKY say no issue and Apple say no hardware issue - ANY help gratefully received.

Yep I have the same problem. I have to turn WiFi off and on on the iPhone to get it to pick up a new IP address. Annoying.

Sky Q works fine with other routers, it’s only the main Q box that connects to the router, the Minis then connect to the main Q boxthrough the 5GHZ channel using Sky’s propriety Mesh network.

I had it for over 2 years now, it was a pain to begin with but with several update now works fine.
I’ve used the Sky Q system, Q Silver box and two minis all on wireless, with the BT Hub 5, BT SmartHub, Netgear Orbi system and SmartHub but this wasn’t the best with the Q, and a Draytek Vigor 2862 AC that worked fine.

My current setup is the Draytek Vigor 130 VDSL modem and 2 Google WiFi pucks. I only set this up this week though but so far so good.

If you want you can highlight settings, then press 0 0 1 and the select on the Q remote and access the network settings, some have changed the wireless channels butsaid this has made the picture on the mini boxes break up, trial and error.

I have the same issue, for the record I had the problem with my previous phone the IPhone 5SE, will try the split Wi-fi tomorrow

I have no problem with any other device including other Apple products (MacBook, iPad Pro and air2)

I have the same issue as described:
iPhone 8 Plus
Sky Q Broadband with Multiroom and a Sky Signal Booster

I've not checked the IP given, but will certainly try that now I know. My wife 6 Plus, my work SE, my iPad and our Macbooks are fine, it's only my 8 that has the problem.
Does anyone know if the 8 and X share the same wireless chipset or radio, that might be the issue and would be interesting to see if anyone else uses that config and is affected too.

If you want you can highlight settings, then press 0 0 1 and the select on the Q remote and access the network settings, some have changed the wireless channels butsaid this has made the picture on the mini boxes break up, trial and error.

I can understand how that might be a problem. Sky gets its bandwidth on the 5GHz by bonding channels, so although it's set to Channel 36, it's also using 40, 44 and 48 too. Channels higher than that aren't usable (until you get into the high numbers), so it might be that if you select a different channel that it just reduces the number it can bond and hence the overall available bandwidth. This would further be exacerbated if there's a booster box in the mix!

Anybody manage to fix this? Just got an iPhone X and have this issue!
Only fix I have is to use the 2.4ghz band. Others have mentioned 11.3 beta 3 onwards fixes this might be worth trying I’ll try 5ghz again when I get a chance as I’m on this beta
