Nope just went againlasted longest time on 5ghz though so they’ve tweaked something
I will have to look into splitting the bands then
I didn't have this issue with my 7 Plus

It’s strange worked fine for ages now if I put it back on 5ghz it goes down into time at all. It’s more frustrating than anything . If I had money to spare I’d get a decent router and try that .I will have to look into splitting the bands then
FWIW, I have this same issue on iPhone X running GR 11.3 and it is driving me to total distraction!! I hate the thought that degrading our router performance (and impacting every other device) is the only way to get round this.
Another of my friends at work has an x and sky q she has same issues. My other friend has an 8 And sky q and also the Same issue.
I am running the new iOS 12 and can confirm it still does not fix the iPhone X and Sky Q mesh network problem!!!

Happens to me all of the time on my X and iPad Pro 10.5,
Sky q with 3 boxes in the house,
I think it has something to do with the way that Q meshes up to keep it stable, when configured at installation, all of the q boxes are essentially set up as WiFi extenders so that one connects to the other, so you could be going through a q box rather than direct to the q hub,
So if you are upstairs in a room where a q box is and the router is downstairs then it’s more than likely it will connect you to the box as it’ll be stronger signal,
When you move around the house it’ll connect to different boxes/hub,
That’s whats confusing it and causing it to jam up,
I usually notice it more when I move into different rooms,
If it’s changing to another box or direct to the router
Whichever signal source is strongest,
I just pop into airplane mode and back and it cures it,
Loose WiFi speed too when going through the boxes,
I’m at around 20mb that’s half what it should be,
The boxes do have a powerline function you can use so that the mesh can be disabled,
Bloody nightmare, been onto sky about it numerous times,
Basically have to deal with it

Someone said it’s much better so I’ve taken the plunge and testing it, will let you know If it works ok.
Nope still sucks a** . I had my screen replaced by Apple on the weekend as my speaker stopped working. I mentioned sky q to the techs. They’d never heard of this issue... funny as happens to my friends 8 as well. I have a feeling it won’t ever be fixed.
How do I go about splitting the router between 2.4 and 5? I have the same issue with the blue bar on safari stopping about 1/10 when loading a page and then I can't access fb , twitter etc
Yes its an issue, however they now know what it is and whats causing it. Sky and Airties are testing fixes for it give it a few months and im hoping it will be fixed.
ive looked into this extensively (im sad) and now seem to understand from what a few engineers have said is causing it and why, im hoping they can fix it!
I switched to plusnet and decided to buy google wifi so I don’t have to bother with ISP provided routers.
