Haha! Sorry, my children are in their thirties so I don't think about it like that. Sometimes in the car I like to have my husband the phone to send someone a text for me, particularly if we're running early or late.
Seriously though, you can still turn on the phone with a pass code if it does not recognize a face. So give them the pass code if you are comfortable with them using your phone.

That part I didn't know. Thanks. So you could actually use a X without ever using face ID?
Dahhh....yup just like you can use a Touch ID iPhone and never use the touch unlock feature. Both are a convenience feature. The true Security is the passcode. Which is also optional. Be sure to use at least an eight digit passcode or more to maximize security.
This is one of those things that might not be an everyday thing but Face ID seems to be failing with immediate change of look. All those fancy dress party goers are not going to like it.

Actually my iPhone X works Even with or without makeup.. no matter what i draw my eyebrow do my lipstick, and put heavy foundation or something like that, it still works eh... like i just woke up without makeup with my lots of pimples and acne over my face the iPhone X face id still recognize me.
Only time it doesn't work for me is when I stop for gas on my bike, doesn't like my full face helmet, even with the visor up, to be expected! No problem, don't mind tapping in passcode one in a while.
