I've heard this. Interestingly enough, my 7 Plus got really hot last night as I was using it. I think it's just the processor... but dang, you'd think the tolerances would be lower since it gets almost too hot to touch.

hi all

is anyone experiencing this issue on non beta version?

I have been on 11.2 beta pretty much since day 1 and my iphone X definitely gets very hot at occasions. Like others said, right under the area of the back cameras. It seem quite random. For instance, yesterday using siri made it hot but it actually cooled down even thought I kept using it. I am eager to deep dive on it as I rather take it back and get a new phone if there is a problem with it.

I called apple support and they did the diagnostic but it came fine. They recommended using on non beta version to see if still gets hot.

Hi!

I noticed that the back of my iPhone X gets hot pretty fast. As soon as I start to do stuff on it, its a matter of seconds before it gets quite hot.

Anybody else experiencing that?

I guess it’s normal since all the materials are conductive (glass, steel), but still.

Tx!
[doublepost=1510364732][/doublepost]We got our phones today. I can’t believe hot fast the X gets HOT. I hope this does not become and issue. I hate to see how hot it’s gets in the case. I had a 7+ that leftva brown burn mark on my last case. I’d be lying if i said I wasn’t a little nervous.

Hy Guys,

I have a question for all iphone x owners. when I shoot in portrait mode photos, the camera is very hot really fast. did someone else notice?

11.2 is installed.

It is normal for your phone to get quite warm while doing anything CPU intensive. Hot is subjective as we all perceive this differently.

If it is getting really hot might be a problem, but I am betting it is just normal for what you are doing.

My iPhone x got really hot today after playing one game of mobile legends on all highest settings. I cannot live with such a hot phone, my past 3 phones were s7e, s8+ and note 8, and none of them ever got hot like this iPhone x , my note 8 and s8+ wouldn't even get warm playing mobile legends on max settings, this sucks, as heat is the batteries #1 enemy, and I can see the battery deteriorating quickly because of the heat

When you all say your phones are getting hot on YouTube, are you watching on a YouTube app or via Safari? I watch via Safari only on my 7 Plus and usually it stays pretty cool to lightly warm. Once in awhile for some reason on a YouTube video via Safari my iPad mini will heat up to very warm to hot. I’m not sure why, I am usually only watching tech reviews.

The X maybe does not dissipate heat as efficiently as larger phones. Big screen and powerful CPU running wide open will heat it up. May not be the best gaming device. The larger iPhone like the 8+ might be a better pick.

I got a second iPhone X and it DOES not get hot like my first one! For those of you that have heat issues imo it’s not normal and after my exchange all is well.

Not only that, Apple stacked the iPhone X logic board to save space and basically doubled the heat density. There's no escaping that.

Streaming on Tune-In, Sprint 256gb becomes hot quickly below Apple logo.

Going to test once or twice more to get a better idea. This may have something to do with the App’s optimization when streaming (YouTube, tunein, etc).

New x and noticed it gets hot with or without case. Did a hard reset and now back to normal so hopefully this resolved the issue.

[doublepost=1511474692][/doublepost]I only got my iPhone X last night but it has been hot all day. Not too hot to hold but definitely uncomfortable.

Noticed that as well.

Still have a 7+ and a 6 so it is very clear that the X gets warm way too fast than the old brothers.

Quite annoying if i have to get in contact with apple again...already exchanged my ipad pro 10.5” (faulty screen), 7+ (Faulty battery) imagine that the battery only lasted for 2 hours and the support guys said this is normal
Never had issues with any apple product before but it is becoming a trend in the last 14 month to get a faulty product (at least for me when pre-ordering and/or ordering on the first day )
Sorry for ranting...

Yes, this has been my biggest - perhaps only gripe so far with the X. The camera area especially gets much warmer than I expected...with AR in use it really gets warm. Few mentioned YouTube...YES, the entire phone feels warmer...I really put that app to use last night after picking up BT headphones to these them!

I've had the 8 Plus since launch day and that never happened with normal use, AR, using video in any way.

I've had 2 or 3 instances where it got very hot, but not hot enough to cause any pain, just uncomfortable.

It happened when I was using an intensive app for a prolonged period of time.

Also gets hot when I fast charge. I used my 87w 15" Macbook Pro charger to charge my phone from 0% to 100%. It took less than an hour, but it was pretty hot when it got up to around 80% charged.
