I've seen slot of wonkiness on the X

I've been through a few replacements so the only phone I can really attest to and talk about battery life with is my original.

Which after 3 weeks of us was seeing fairly good battery life, not as good as my 7plus, but a fighting second I would say.

I bought apples 29wat charger with a usb-c to lightning cable and whenever I need a charge I just plug in for a half hour...lol simple solution!

How do you wake up the phone then? Power button? Or raise to wake?

The Side button. I was already accustomed to doing that with the 6S to view my Lock screen as Touch ID 2 works so fast. Raise to wake is also off. With tap to wake off, I get double the battery life in standby hours. But that's quite the trade off, isn't it?

A lotta people say the 8 Plus has better bettery life than the X. In pretty much every battery test, the X lasts longer than the 8 Plus. What gives?

It means the tests fail to mimic real world usage in some way. Possibly not activating the IR system as often as happens in real use.

Apple is already clear about the difference in battery life on their specs page. The 8 Plus should last longer. Apple has no reason to lie about that since the X is their flagship.

I just bought an iPhone X again. I went from 8 plus to x, and back to 8 plus. Now I’m back on an X. Best time to do a proper comparison! I’ll post my findings :)

Am I late for the dick swinging contest?

My iPhone 6S battery last like 28 hours of usage time while exporting videos from iMovie and bit coin mining.

Since the devices have different parts the run times will vary depending on the task, which is why Apple rates overall average so generically.

Someone doesn't like those results than call Apple and voice your concerns (with a troubling amount of low self esteem to care at all btw) with them.

I am well are of what apple has mentioned on their website, but what I don’t understand is pretty much all ALL battery tests on YouTube prove that the X lasts longer than the 8 Plus. Yet people keep saying the 8 Plus lasts longer. Is it because Face ID uses a lot of power?

I think it's a subjective area because each user has their own variety of Apps which may draw on the battery more or less than others either whilst in use or in the background.

Apple's figures would be the most certain.

It shouldn't be a huge deal to either X or 8 owners, so long as the battery isn't dramatically underperforming.

Why it's turned into yet another online battle between iPhone users is beyond me. They should all detach from this forum for a bit - recharge their batteries...

YouTube videos need clicks. They want to draw you in to generate revenue. They can manipulative the data to show anything they want. I don't watch YouTube videos about the iPhone, there are plenty of articles that give the honest data.

I think if they wanted to do that, they'd try to prove that the iPhone X has worse battery life than the 8 Plus. That's what gets people all riled up.

What phone do you use?

I don't know about the 8+ as I don't care and don't want it. But I came from a 7+ and now have an X. At first the X was notably less than my 7+, but then again it is smaller. However I'm now consistently getting 2 days out of my X so I'd say in my experience it is on par.

How long did it take for the battery life to get better? I'm also noticing similar battery performance compared to my 7 Plus. I bought my new iPhone X yesterday and it's a little warm right below the camera lens (where the CPU is), even when just replying to text messages and reading on Tapatalk. That did not happen with the 7 Plus. It stayed cool.

I've had mine since 23 November....I'd say I noticed around Christmas. It also doesn't seem to run as hot as it did initially...

Oh so yours ran hot as well? Glad to hear there's nothing wrong with mine. Did you set it up as new or restore from a backup?

I restored it from a backup during the new setup. It is fine, it is more powerful in a small package and when new it does a lot of indexing, loading, installing etc...I've had mine operating from -16 to 40 degrees celcius ambient temperatures, even had it in the sea underwater. It will be fine, just enjoy using it.

Never had a phone last as long. My 6splus would last as long as me in a room with Katy Perry. Beginning to think it was faulty. This goes for 36 hours with 8 hours usage, it’s awesome.

So I've been using my iPhone X for about a week now. Best I got was about 9 hours. On my 7 Plus, I used to get 10.5 hours of usage on iOS 10. On iOS 11 it dropped to 8 hours. My usage patterns haven't changed. I'm disappointed. I bought this phone because of the insane battery wins on YouTube battery tests. I expected more from a $1000 phone. Seriously considering selling this and buying an 8 Plus.

This was taken last night. On my 7 Plus on iOS 10, I'd be close to 11 hours

On my 8 Plus...I have never depleted my battery below 30 percent yet. Best I got was 7 hours usage with about 40 percent left and I’m a heavy user.
