I waited 4 years before getting the iPhone Xs. I previously owned an iPhone 6 Plus. With the iPhone costing so much nowadays i’ll Probably hold onto mines for 4-5 years.

Every two years and then I hand down my phone to a family member while I get a new phone for two more years and then they get to upgrade the old phone that’s been used for four years by then every two years as well.

So in short I use the same phone 4 years between myself and family member by the time it’s done.

I can’t do that with an android because by the third and fourth year android phones are too slow to use.

I always like to have the latest and greatest, but I ended up returning the XS due to the animation stutter. Can’t stand it.

I may repurchase when they get everything fixed. Otherwise, I’ll hang onto the X until next release.

Xs has an animation stutter on iOS 12 that’s x doesn’t?

My x still on 11.3 for jb so cant test myself

Had the XS Ma had to return it back twice due to signals problems now will keep on Using my iPhone x till 2021. Hopefully we will see 5G.

I cannot be bothered playing apple lottery screen/signal what other problems game each year and returning launch phones problems back and forward to much time.

Normally I upgrade ever year, however I plan on keeping my X till next year. Max is too big for me and XS doesn’t have that much differences to justify the upgrade.

I’ve been upgrading every year or two but I expect to be using the Max for at least 4-5 years. The ridiculous prices have finally won and I don’t need the latest and greatest that badly.

Right now, with my recent Xs Max upgrade, I’ll say I’m going back to every 2-3 years. Since before Apple, I have only wanted to upgrade when there was a major redesign or strong, compelling features (like Dual-SIM) were introduced.

I upgraded last year to the 8 Plus after being on a 6 Plus for 3 years. The latter was exhibiting some issues so I went for an “interim upgrade” while waiting for what would be the Max. I later regretted getting the white bezel front and was glad that my wait for the Max was only a year.

Being Apple, I don’t expect a major redesign for another 2-3 years, some interesting improvements, maybe, but I doubt anything major until 5G or a major camera breakthrough. So, I’m paying this Max off in December and will once again enjoy having nothing but cellular service on my bill - that’s high enough as it is.

I used my iPhone 6s for 3 years before upgrading to the XS Max this year and honestly (after iOS 12), I would have kept my 6s for another year if I hadn't already promised it to a co-worker. I plan on keeping my XS for at least 4+ years. If my husband's 6s bites the dust before that, we will reevaluate...he might take my XS and I'd upgrade to the current flagship phone. But for now, he is still happy with his 6s and doesn't want to upgrade yet.

In our relationship, I'm the technophile when it comes to phones and he's the one who'd rather not go through the trouble of changing devices so it works out well for us. :)

I'm keeping my X 64GB for a year more. Will probably swap out my battery this December at that discounted $29 rate. After all, battery life isn't what it once were.

That sounds sweet. Although might I suggest the discounted $29 battery replacement for your husband's 6s in the interim so it won't be plagued by performance throttling down the line? Unless that's what you're hoping would happen to force his hand

I normally upgrade annually, but I am very happy with my launch day iPhone X that I don't feel the need to upgrade this year. I will definitely upgrade next year though, hopefully with a new design of iPhone.

I ran my old iphone 6 for 4 years planning to do the same with my iPhone X was planning to upgrade to iPhone XS Max sent two phones back due to problems.

I have a launch day X and won't be upgrading until September 2019. I will, however, have the battery swapped out in December, to take advantage of the $29 pricing. My battery is currently at 92% capacity.

I have the iPhone Xs and will possibly keep it for the next 2 - 3 years, it has replaced a 2 year old iPhone 7.

Adam.

I have an iPhone X and plan to use it at least five years. I honestly do not use my phone so much as I use my iPad for most things that I do. My phone is pretty much texting/calling. :p

Several years. Bought my Max outright and unless I can sell it for almost what I bought it for then it’s staying with me for awhile. I don’t need to just lease the latest and greatest.

Since the iPhone X is basically the 10th anniversary iphone, I tend to stick with nostalgia and plan to be keeping mine if only for that reason.

Honestly though, I don’t see a need to upgrade at this time. Still very happy with the function of the phone. It is still on 11.1.1 with the tvOS profile installed to block updates.

Goal is 3 years. My boyfriend has been using his 6+ for 4 years. I find it very respectable to use your device for that long and get that much use out of it (I upgrade every 1-2 years), so I’m trying to be more like him.

nice 11.1.1 still on 11.2.1 just checked my uptime shows 290 days the most stable version I every had.

I will always buy physical design changes. Only exception was iphone 6 through 8 which I call it the 6 series which I skipped them all and got the X. If they keep the general design of the X but get rid of the camera bump and/or get rid of the notch, I will buy 100%.
