Spent the day with a buddy of mine today at top golf. Wrote the colors are so vivid and rich on his phone and my X was so dull in comparison it was a day and night difference.

Anyone else notice this? Why is this? Will Apple move to the better screens this year?
did you by any chance had True tone enabled ?

this video says otherwise

I’ve had both phones for at least a few months. My experience and the way I use them, the X wins in that department. It’s not even close, especially with stand by time. And I’ve tried to disable apps with package disablers on the N8. Too much bloat ...

I think historically that has been true. But I thought most reviewers this year were saying that the roles are reversed, with the iPhone screen looking more bright than the Samsung displays.

I think that would totally make sense if you were being asked to give up the Countach for a Civic, but if the alternate option was a Ferrari LaFerrari??....
You are confusing brightness with saturation.

What's so great about iMessage besides sending pics?

It’s not Google’s messaging app attempt....

It’s actually quite shocking how basic phones from years ago got simple SMS right, and Android just messes it up constantly. And now they use machine learning and AI to get it right? Really? All that power is required for you to send texts and pictures????? Seems like a sledgehammer to bang a tiny nail solution.

iMessage seems the only half decent solution.. Apples bugs aside that is..

Keep seeing praise for iMessage, yet to see a clear explanation what makes it so special.

Pretty sure this isn't iMessage exclusive, brother.
It is, as no other messaging app can do this without a data plan. Sounding iMessages from iPad over wifi is a great feature just like it is having it on all your devices. Unlike WhatsApp where you have to use your phone or if you have a MacBook.

Not just the note 8, Samsung defaults all their screens’ tone to a very saturated setting. Users can set it back to a standard setting, which I do all the time.

Apple doesn’t offer the option.

Which setting on the Samsung? Adative display?
