Note 8 still fulfills my all around needs...I will wait for the note 9 which I hope evolves to a foldable device .......no phone is as complete as the Note 8.

The phone is basically a mini computer in your hand with the latest technologies available while keeping the SD Card slot up to 400GB and the headphone jack that still many love. Android is more advanced than iOS by the simple fact that it can be freely customized, also the multi taslking capabilities that Samsung has been implementing since the S3 days. Join that to the best screen available on a phone and you got the best package possible of performance + entertainment + security (Knox).
I do not understand what makes Touch wiz gimmicky? It's faster than ever since the S5 days, the only pre installed apps are the main Samsung apps such as the Galaxy Store and Samsung Health, and is still more capable than iOS, not to mention more appealing to the eye but that's subjective.
Is the Note 9 rumored to be foldable or is the foldable going to be a new category unto itself?
Whatever it is, I’m hoping to be an early adopter. I’ve been waiting for them to get that foldable to market ever since I saw the prototypes. It will take the place of the iPad mini upgrade I would have made this year...except there’s no sign of Apple releasing a mini, is there?
Lets see those sales numbers and how they speak about how many people really love the s9
Also you mentioned the only preinstalled apps are Samsung health and galaxy store. That’s factually incorrect because carriers will install their own bloat onto it and sure it can be rooted to remove that but the fact is it should not have to be because Samsung should tell the carriers NO the way Apple does.
I have no experience with carrier locked phones so my opinion was based always on unlocked models. The bloat comes from the carrier so it's not Samsungs fault. Again sales numbers doesn't mean that a product is better than another thats actually a very poor argument simply by the fact that most Apple users upgrade to the latest iPhone for the simple case that it's an iPhone, also based from what they see their friends using. Talking about real life experience and observation.

So, I'm reading how to share things on iOS and it says I need to have iTunes. So lame. Is this correct? Just to do what we were discussing to share something from like the Daily Mail ,etc? I don't really want to have iTunes so is that just for sharing to your other Apple devices? As I stated earlier, I tried to do what you showed in that video and it doesn't show Hangouts as an option even though I have it on the iPad.

No. The last time I plugged my phone into a computer was to wipe and reinstall iOS completely. I don’t know what’s going wrong with your installation, but I find sharing on iOS to be super easy. Just have the app installed, go into the sharing menu, make sure the option is checked, then share.
I got it to show up and then i turned it on.....finally, but I had to open something else where it showed up to do that but it works now.

Based on the above.. here in the UK.. the best price from a respectable retailer I can purchase the X from currently is £959 for 64gb version (no promotional offers at launch) whilst I can pre-order (again from a respectable retailer) the S9 64gb for £591 (granted with a promotional offer at launch)?!
The “bang for your buck” is clear in this comparison given these are the latest and current flagship products from the two mobile behemoths that are Apple and Samsung!

How familiar are you with the iPhone? Have you owned any Apple product before? Are you familiar with Apple's philosophy, and why Apple products are the way they are?
If you want a phone which will simply work as long as possible, customer experience which is unmatched by anyone so far in the tech world, a hardware which is so advanced that competition need several months to catch up in performance, operating system, which even though limited, is the most stable and reliable piece of software engineering there is, operating system which is sure to be patched up very quickly whenever there is something wrong, or there is an external threat. If you want the perfect synchrony of hardware and software, further enforced by unmatched customer service, as I have already mentioned, go with the iPhone. Cons would be that Apple products are significantly higher priced than competition, lack of expandable storage and limited OS, limited in a way there is little you can do in way of customization.
If you want an also good phone, which is just more user customizable and has expandable storage, go with the Android. And... good luck. Advantages over the iPhone? Well, few like almost limitless user customization and tweaking, some models have really high capacity batteries, some have expandable (but very slow speed) storage. All of those devices are orchestrated by the OS which was created as an OS for Blackberry like phones, and became an response to iPhone and iOS later, and which still - believe it or not: cannot get its **** together to this very day.

But its hard to justify spending so much on iPhones these days. I remember when the latest greatest flagship iPhone was just 199$ on contract....now it's 599$ on contract (in Canada)....the S9 is only 250$ on contract. I get the iPhone 8 is the "base" model that is more comparable but the S9 is significantly better value than the iPhone 8. It's premium in the same vein as the X is.
I get that the X's an expensive product and apple priced it accordingly but sometimes I wonder why I spent this much on a phone haha.
S9 looks like fantastic value. Loved the S7. It's actually cheaper in Canada than the S8 was which is a huge plus. I'm just tied to iOS too much. It's really the only thing that keeps me from moving with 2 feet in and I spent about 18 months on Android with the S7, absolutely loved it because of how much you can do with it and how liberating it felt from the very conservative and "boring" iOS, but with all my overseas family members, FaceTime and iMessage and mac integration became a thing

With Videotron here in Quebec you can get the S9+ for only 150$ on contract. The iPhone X is 399$.
You put the finger on the problem with Facetime and iMessage...95% of my contacts (probably 99%) use iPhone...with iMessage and FaceTime.
It may be but I have zero interest in the Notes. Too big is the biggest thing. I just don't want a phone that big and I've really no use the pen either. I don't work in an office doing the type of work that you got need it for. But the biggest thing for me is the size.

I don't see the iPhone as being the best hardware. Nothing stands out about it over the others.
And I LOVE the expandable storage because I can buy a cheaper 32GB device and add 128GB more for $50 or less. They go down all the time and they aren't slow.
Never ever had an issue with microcards and I already have about 1500 songs I put on it so when I put it in, music I really like is there instantly. And yes I also stream as well but like to usey own more often.
If I were able to add that to my 32GB 9.7" iPad I recently got on sale for $270, I wouldn't worry about updates eating it up like Apple devices do. But since I don't use tablets as heavy with apps as my phones, I'm probanly ok there.

Rather foolish statement to make considering we don’t know what any of the other flagships will bring...
If you take a look at the person you’re responding to, he’s a huge fan of Samsung and will find reasons why they win competitions.
You don't need to be Einstein to know what this year's iphone will bring. New anamojis, a Plus model, something else to lock you into the Apple ecosytem and a new albeit underwhelming and useless feature.
The Note 9 however sounds very very interesting.
He has a good reason to make that assumption based on 2017. So I wouldn't call it foolish.
You got it all wrong, I'm not anti Apple or pro Samsung. Sometimes football fans get frustrated when they keep seeing their team lose, just watch Arsenal Fan TV on youtube as an example. Well just imagine that with me, but instead of supporting a football team, you use a company's product but are frustrated with their new releases.

Apple won’t release a plus model of the X and not add any features Witt the device. What makes note 9 more interesting? What the S9 is what note 9 will be with a few S pen features.
