iPhone X: Who's buying?

I'll maybe get whatever comes out next year, when the (product)red model is available. I enjoy having the red iPhone 7 I just got a few months ago. I got tired of having the same old black or white models and I don't care for the other color options. I thought of waiting for this new one, but when I heard it may cost $999 as well as looking back at all the issues when major hardware changes like this came around, I decided to just get the 7.
Oh cool. I’m not buying it because the notch is really ugly, distracting and poorly executed. Looks like Apple saw Samsung’s phones and slapped the X together to put some kind of competition out there. I really do like the Animoji’s so maybe I’ll reconsider. Cool story, right?

As there's only one logical reaction to the iPhone 8 pricing:
It's ironically made me actually consider a 7+ or X as the two alternative options. So now it's between going with the now seemingly reasonable 256 7+ for £769, or maxing out and splurging £1149 on the top of the line model. I'd also consider a 6s+ but at £649 that's still asking way too much for a 2 year old phone.

Since when are you a mod that you think you can go around telling people what they can or can't post.
I think some will hold off and see how well Touch ID works in real life. That is one thing that is hard to test for yourself in store. Need real world data from early adopters.

As the thread title asks a question so expects I assume more than one answer, mine is no. If I was buying a phone this year it would either be an iPhone 7 on a cheaper tariff or the iPhone 8.

My hope is they get the pre-order kinks out for those of us using the upgrade program through the app when the 8 comes out and then the X should be easier to get my hands on. Oh, 256 Silver.
I'm really torn here. I don't care to upgrade to the 8, pricing is way too high for what it is but I don't really want to be paying two extra months for the upgrade program that won't go towards anything. Plus next year we'll (iUP subscribers) all be off of the 12 month cycle for the new phones and will have to pay two months upfront in order to get back on cycle
fully intended on it before the event. after the event, I was left scratching my head and debating on keeping my iPhone 7 Plus.
I will not be buying. The price has crossed a threshold where is doesn't make sense anymore.

Agreed, I have been with Apple every single year since the original iPhone but they crossed a greed line that I'm not sure I can get over. What makes it worse is that they know most will want more than 64gb so goodbye $1149!
