There's a first time for everything...
If i'm not mistaken...the apple watch 3 was cheaper than the apple watch 2.

Exactly. To be honest the only thing that's coming down the pipeline that would get me to upgrade earlier than 2-3 years is 5G capability. I don't care mostly for the incremental increases each year all in the same form factor (upgraded chip, camera, RAM, slightly better battery - yawn). It's when a new form factor comes that i get the real itch to upgrade. I'm only doing so this time because i've always wanted a massive iphone. The next phone after that i upgrade to will be when Apple redesigns the device, perhaps eliminating the notch would do it.More and more people will start taking this path over the next few years. Smart phones are now practically double the price they were when they first became mainstream; couple that with the maturing technology lengthening the useful lifespan of devices.
I definitely intend for the iPhone I buy in three weeks time to last for three years.
Common sense would dictate that this is the case. Why would Apple pass on their efficiency savings to the consumer when the consumer has already clearly shown an appetite to pay the premium prices. After reflecting, my guess will be:Apple have never introduced new better specced models at a lower price. There us no way that they will introduce a larger and better ohone at the same price as last years model
no way the x+ is the same price as last years base X. Not the apple way i mean come on we almost have a $10,000 MacBook....

Common sense would dictate that this is the case. Why would Apple pass on their efficiency savings to the consumer when the consumer has already clearly shown an appetite to pay the premium prices. After reflecting, my guess will be:
1. iPhone 9 - 6.1" = $699 USD (32 or 64GB base storage)
2. iPhone Xs - 5.8" = $999 USD (64 or 128GB base storage)
3. iPhone Xs Plus - 6.5" = $1,149 USD (64 or 128GB base storage)
Never going to happen. If it has Touch ID the Xs will be on backorder for months
It likely will be as they realise they wanted to sell more than actually did.no way the x+ is the same price as last years base X. Not the apple way i mean come on we almost have a $10,000 MacBook....
iPhone XS price
- iPhone XS price estimate: $1,000 (£1,000, AU$1,579)
- iPhone XS Plus price estimate $1,199 (£1,199, AU$1,714)
- Cheapest iPhone 2018 may cost $699 (£699, AU$1,079)

Not necessarily. The 6.1 is likely to have iPhone 8 internals and camera. It will be a mid-range phone. If that's true the LCD 6.1 will be very popular.
Which is exactly why it will be easily the most popular of the three models and will sell in bigger numbers. The mass market has already shown it’s not interested in the latest specs by buying the iPhone 7 all year. Not necessarily. The 6.1 is likely to have iPhone 8 internals and camera. It will be a mid-range phone.
