I bought a Mini for my daughter, college freshman, prior to the Nano's arrival. The Mini is nice, very nice especially with the laser ingraving. HOWEVER, the Nano is just plain COOL! It is tiny, the screen is color and it is cool, way cool. The Nano I was able to handle/fondle was black. I understand everyone's fascination with black and it does look good BUT it collects fingerprints like crazy. My recommendation, white Nano. Go for it. Cheers

I just thought I'd weigh in one more time and say that I saw my sister-in-law's nano today, and it has suffered several scratches despite her efforts to keep it safe while awaiting her nano case. I'm not saying you shouldn't get the nano, but I really recommend having a good case/tube with a screen protector on before using a nano.

Oh Yes...

I would just like everyone that is having problems with the nano becoming scratched, to check out http://www.theinvisibleshield.com/.

It is WAY better than any other invisible cover for iPod's, and then you can use and awe at your iPod the way it was meant to be seen, as it came out of the box.
