I just purchased my first iPod Touch (32gb 3rd gen) a couple days ago online. I was wondering what suggestions you guys had for cases (obviously I'm aware the 2g cases fit the new 3g just fine) -- the only "feature" that the case must have is that the iPod needs to be able to be docked without having to remove the case.

I have same questions.. although I assume there are lots of existing posts on the forum...

I bought clear hard case by DLO (clearance at Best Buy). It has a built in stand (which I thought was clever) - but it won't dock and the shell looks like it will break..

it's going back.. I am taking notes on everyone's suggestions..

The Apple Store prices are outrageous for accessories

What are good places to buy online (besides EBAY)

SteelerMac

also look at the switcheasy neo touch. it is a bit slimmer than the rebel. but it is more difficult to get on the first time. i think it is a better fit though. switcheasy cases come with a dock adapter so you don't need to remove anything to dock them.

I have a Speck Candyshell case and i LOVE it. This is my first iPod touch and I was really worried about protecting it. Right now the colour choice is limited for the touches, but i heard a rumor that they are getting it in all the same colours as the iPhone cases. I have had no problems with wifi reception since putting the case on.

I bought a DLO Jam Jacket Gamer at Best Buy while i pondered the Otterbox.

I actually really like this case and wonder if i could go back to a normal on. It has thick ends that make it really easy to hold. You can't see them on the website very well.

Of course, cases for me tend to be all about function over looks.... and it probably wouldn't go into a pocket well if that was your goal. But dang it's easy to lie in bed and hold!

Also a thumb up for the Switcheasy. I don't have a dock but I know it comes with the adapter. I absolutely love the case; it's solid, fits well in a pocket, and contrary to some reviews I've yet to lose the dock cover piece. :D

I have these anti glare anti fingerprint screen protectors that I bought for 17 bucks (came with five though) and they are absolutely amazing!

I also bought a slider incase (white) and I freaking love it. Problem is is that it's so tight with the bottom piece that it causes a minor bubble at the bottom right of the protector. Though I'm sure if I trimmed the protector or shaves down a part of the case it would work flawlessly. Apparently if you just go with the power supply anti glare protectors thoughbit works perfectly with the incase slider.

So that's my recommendation for sure the incase slider.

I got the SwitchEasy NeoTouch. I took my time installing it & it works great. The only downside for me is the logo on the back is raised so it will not sit level on a flat surface but a bit of sandpaper will resolve that.

That looks like a killer case. Thanks for the reco!

This looks cool. I heard somebody saying that after he put this on to his iPod Touch, the power button did not work well mechanically speaking. Could anybody please confirm this?

Also, as some of you know, cases from Speck sometime caused scratches on the MBP. One of the reasons is due to the fact that dust entered through the gap between the case and the MBP. Do cases (such as those from Switcheasy, Incase, Speck) for the iPod Touch/iPhone have these problems?

is new utouch same exact size as 2g

Do the 2G cases fit the 3G cases for ipod touch? (is form factor the same???)

It's the same size, and videos that I've seen on Youtube have shown that 2G cases fit on the 3G, so yes, 2G cases fit on the 3G snug.

I am a bit worry... 3G may fit into cases for 2G. However, it might not be a perfect fit. For example, a case may fit perfectly on the 2G but it may create scratch for the 3G. Do I need to worry about this?
