i jus got the rebel touch this week and ive been having the problem with the power button i reinstalled and its the same thing. it works but i feel like i have to press it harder then usual. i think i was used to the incase case i got at the apple store.

Thanks for the experience.

From the thread "3 day old iPhone 3GS already cracking", I read that small particles entered the protective cases and caused cracking on the iPhone. Which cases do not have this issue (for the new iPod Touch)?

Speck Candy Shell looks good but why do they have to be so expensive? $35 (plus sales tax?) just seems too expensive. The margin of profit must be HUGE.

This looks cool. I heard somebody saying that after he put this on to his iPod Touch, the power button did not work well mechanically speaking. Could anybody please confirm this?

Also, as some of you know, cases from Speck sometime caused scratches on the MBP. One of the reasons is due to the fact that dust entered through the gap between the case and the MBP. Do cases (such as those from Switcheasy, Incase, Speck) for the iPod Touch/iPhone have these problems?

There was a problem with the silicone molding in the first cases, but it has been fixed, and all the buttons work great.

$7 from ebay

I bought this case from ebay for $7. It comes with a screen protector. The link is for a pink one, but the one I bought is red.

I like the case, but it adds enough size that it won't fit well in my DLO holster or my car vent mount. I used a gelaskin applique on my 1st gen touch and may do the same on this one. Gelaskin (http://www.gelaskins.com/) are $15 and come with a screen protector.

Right now I'm leaning toward the Gelaskin because they look good and it doesn't change the size enough to interfere with my holster or car mount.

switcheasy and speck are probably your best bets, kind of expensive though...

I would personally say the RebelTouch found at //switcheasy.com//. They recently added many new coloring options, and the case is both grippy and smooth. The spine backing is amazing and glossy. I highly recommend this case.

I think I'm going to go for the switcheasy NUDE. Looks nice. The only real problem the strength of protection for the iPod touch. And I heard about watermarks? What does that mean? Can that cause damage to the iPod touch because I will use it for working out, etc.

yah, but the back is like a scratch magnet so it shows terribly, btw this is the dictionary meaning for a watermark-a figure or design impressed in some paper during manufacture, visible when the paper is held to the light. im not positive, but im pretty sure that a watermark wont damage your ipod/case
