This looks cool. I heard somebody saying that after he put this on to his iPod Touch, the power button did not work well mechanically speaking. Could anybody please confirm this?

im wondering on this part, and seems like no1 answered it. since the switcheasy offers the port cover for the ipod touch.. could there be any way that the port cover is messing up the insides? this is real interesting and it got my attention.

What about the Switcheasy Colors case? I'm probably going to get that for my new iPod touch 3G 32GB, but I can't decide on mican (yellow) or crimson (red).

They need to make more colors for the ipod touch speck candy shell. 2 is not enough, something with Blue would be nice.

I'm looking for a hard case that will protect the screen while the it's in the case. I like to remove the touch from the case while I use it, so it can be a full metal enclosure without access to the screen.

Basically, like a travel case for protecting the thing.

I don't want anything pressing on that screen when I have it in my luggage.

Anyone see anything like that?

I ended up getting the DLO HipCase Leather Folio Case from Amazon. Love it. (Read the reviews on Amazon.) I can dock it or use it with the case on. The back clip is slim and tight. It's everything I had hoped for. Feels great in the hand. A lot of the time I leave my Thumbtack Mic plugged in for quick voice recording as needed. Sweet.

The switcheasy brand is good. They protect the iPods if you drop them and they fit perfectly. The rebel touch is what you would be after. Also I have a customized silicone iPod case with my favorite mascot on it.... All cases should provide a scratch protection and a good grip, and I think that this case offers both features in the same time.

I bought a DLO Jam Jacket Gamer at Best Buy while i pondered the Otterbox.

I actually really like this case and wonder if i could go back to a normal on. It has thick ends that make it really easy to hold. You can't see them on the website very well.

Of course, cases for me tend to be all about function over looks.... and it probably wouldn't go into a pocket well if that was your goal. But dang it's easy to lie in bed and hold!

I've got one of these too. It feels like a very strong case. The rubber outer skin absorbs a fair amount of shock from bumps and drops. It also makes the volume and power buttons much easier to press.

But the screen protector is terrible. For some reason it creates a water mark /air bubble on the screen which is really frustrating. You can try to get rid of it by either attaching an anti-glare screen protector to your iPod or by sprinkling a small amount of baby/talcum powder on the screen before attaching the case. I couldn't get the baby/talcum powder trick to work and I couldn't be bothered to buy another screen protector so I just tore out the Otterboxes built in screen protector.

It cost me about £20-£25 which is probably a little bit too expensive considering the problems it has. But, that aside, it's not a bad case.

In answer to MKStretch: the DLO case I mention just above your post has a built-in belt clip. Very sleek, very strong.

In answer to Peter Venkman: this same DLO case has a flip-over cover that protects the front. Not hard as steel, but pretty stiff.

nice case

Very inexpensive and nice case is "Griffin" Elan (tm) Passport Metal.
Works well for me and rarely take it out of case.

I love my Sena leather case

I just purchased my first iPod Touch (32gb 3rd gen) a couple days ago online. I was wondering what suggestions you guys had for cases (obviously I'm aware the 2g cases fit the new 3g just fine) -- the only "feature" that the case must have is that the iPod needs to be able to be docked without having to remove the case.

Go to senacases.com and check out the
SENA PREMIUM STAND CASE FOR THE IPOD TOUCH 2G

It's leather, it's beautiful, it's expensive--$42, but well worth it. And it completely closes to protect the screen when you're not using it. You can sync without removing the case, too.

Also, as some of you know, cases from Speck sometime caused scratches on the MBP. One of the reasons is due to the fact that dust entered through the gap between the case and the MBP. Do cases (such as those from Switcheasy, Incase, Speck) for the iPod Touch/iPhone have these problems?

i jus got the rebel touch this week and ive been having the problem with the power button i reinstalled and its the same thing. it works but i feel like i have to press it harder then usual. i think i was used to the incase case i got at the apple store.
