People who think monthly payments are good, are bad at math. I would rather buy apple stocks. Btw, thanks for helping the stock go higher.
Didn't say they were "good" ... but it makes the phone attainable in an otherwise unobtainable situation. For me I realize I'm just renting my phone and not owning it, but I get the new phone every year. I used to buy them outright and sell them for 90-95% of what I bought them for, but I got tired of the whole process of selling the phone. I love monthly payments though. Pretty much 100% of my monthly payments for things I own have 0% interest ... and my credit score is 813 ... so I think I'm doing okay.People who think monthly payments are good, are bad at math. I have an iPhone XR and I really cant think of anything apple could offer to make me upgrade from this.

Good for some ... and a sore spot for others apparently.Bandaman, i hope you’re not a lawyer. “Monthly payments are wonderful” is saying they’re good.
This. My aging eyes were what prompted my move to the XR - needed a larger screen but didn't want to pay too much.I upgrade if I feel a need for it.
Changed my iPhone a month ago acknowledging that with aging eyes it would be much easier to read anything on a bigger screen.
I am. The xs max is a pretty great phone. I have a anker battery pack fast charger that essentially takes out the battery woes.I have an iPhone XR and I really cant think of anything apple could offer to make me upgrade from this. If I cast my mind back to when I got my first iPhone (4) I remember thinking about what my perfect phone would be. And it would be a larger edge to edge display with a great battery life. Well I have that now. Nothing else fundamentally changes the day to day use of the phone.
I don't care about more cameras since I don't take many pictures anyway. I don't care about oled, I don't care about 5g (normally on wifi most places I go and when I'm out and about not normally staring at my phone), smaller notch would be nice but isn't going to change anything in my usage. I mean I'm really struggling to think of what I want in a phone now. The only thing id really want is for it to be lighter as I don't like the weight (but then would lose battery life so its a compromise I'm willing to deal with).
Just as a disclaimer this is MY use case. Im well aware there are some people who cant live without 3 cameras, oled etc. But for me, I don't think ill be upgrading for a while.
Anyone else feel the same?
One thing with the Pixel is ‘motion sense’ combined with face unlock. It senses you reaching for the phone and starts scanning your face and by the time you grab the phone it’s at the home screen. I wish Apple would implement something like this because it’s quite nice.I am. The xs max is a pretty great phone. And the screen is great and speakers. I need something truly compelling. I’m heading in-screen Fingerprints scanner rumors. If that’s the case I want that! Combine that with Face ID and it would be a perfect iPhone. Seamless unlocking when picking up the phone.
On a random note ... I love your Memoji.I'm coming up on a year with iPhone Xs Max. I have no particular need for the 11 Pro Max, but because I paid up front it gives me options.
I "might" get the 11 Pro Max @ some point for $650 + taxes IF my finances warrant it. Otherwise, I'm totally happy and satisfied with my Xs Max. It's a truly great phone.
I do fancy myself a pretty good mobile photographer so... The wide lens and Night Mode would be nice to have but not mandatory.
I'll see what happens and how I feel in the next few months.
