I think this happend. The excitment ended after purchase. You know how we are often excited about new things but when we buy it we have that empty feeling. That’s because we didn’t really need that thing, but the process itself. I use Apple products only but I buy them as rarely as I can. Instead I am always reading and watching videos about rumors, new products, etc. It’s about the excitment. So my advice is this. Return it while you still can, save your money, get back to your amazing 11PM and to excitment train - it’s already heading towards iPhone 16 (which you may or may not buy). ☺️

Edit. When you buy for REAL need, you don’t feel buyers remorse. Trust me.

Most likely returning mine tonight. I am giving it another day and we'll go from there. 1) I continue having issues with front-facing camera. Photos are either horrendous, or the camera would simply not work (lag of 15-18 sec indoors). 2) I spent a lot of time yesterday and the day before with Apple support and mobility support. Three different callers complained that they can't properly hear me and the calls were constantly interrupted.
It feels very underwhelming compared to my three year old Samsung S20 FE, not at all an upgrade. The zoom everyone is so thrilled about I have already had for years. The screen is too yellow with True Tone.
I do, however, not have the overheating issues others seem to experience and the phone is fast. The battery life is exceptional. I am hoping that another unit will not be defective.

as much as I want to like it, and I do like it....its poor battery makes it almost uselsss

what good can be a superb camera, screen, tool, without battery ? what's the purpose if it's off

I'm absolutely loving my 15 ProMax. Upgrading from a 6 yr old iPhone X really makes it feel like a significant improvement in every aspect.. Couldn't be more satisfied.

Poor battery? For me it lasts all day of fairly heavy use (no gaming) and is at above 30% that’s from 6 am to 10 pm.

No. I am happy with mine - light weight and white color choice. I am good until next year release😁

My 15 Pro Max is not hot, and certainly doesn’t lag. I think you’ll be grand.
I hope so. My only other experience with IPhone is my work phone which is a IP11. And I comment daily on how much smoother things work on the IP11 than than S22U. Obviously i'm putting much more of a load on my personal phone daily but really, just basic things just work better. I can only assume 4 years would be pretty dramatic for me. As well as moving from Samsung.

My 15 Pro Max is fantastic and I think it's a worthwhile upgrade in general. However, as I posted on a similar thread, I have to return mine because I am getting bad eye fatigue and started yesterday to get a nasty headache from the display. But I am sensitive to different kinds of flickering in OLED and even some LCD displays. So I knew going into this purchase that I might not be able to keep it.

I've been through this enough times to generally know I'm not going to get along with the display on a phone. The 14 Pro Max was an outlier in that I made it to 6 months with it before I just couldn't use it anymore because the headaches formed so fast and were so bad.

No offense to anyone but I am also baffled by the “buyers” remorse topics like 2-3 days after the phone launches.

It’s not like Apple is tricking people into upgrading every year. They give you all the specs and information you need before making a decision to buy or not. The specs and features are listed on the product page. Also, there a many tech YouTubers who gave their impressions and thoughts right after the Apple event. They also release reviews a few days before the phone launches which even gives you time to cancel pre-orders if the phone isn’t your cup of tea.

Then the yearly upgrade people who then pop up and complain that the new phone isn't an upgrade from last year's phone.. I just give them the biggest side-eye. I rarely ( if ever ) have buyer's remorse when it comes to tech products that I purchase because I do thorough research and see if it will meet my needs or interests.

I have 15 pro max because it was a smart financial decision since I switched carriers and am getting the phones mostly for free and then some. My choice was to get apple care renewed from my 13 pro max or get the new phone. Technologically I would have kept the 13 pro max and renewed my Apple Care. I’m not nearly as excited going to this phone, as I was going from the 11 pro max to the 13 pro max. Somethings are cool, and no doubt it’s an overall a good phone(except for battery life), but from an upgrade standpoint. It’s a solid meh for me.

There isn't any more excitement in hardware. The excitement only comes from firmware and accessories now.

So as a metal and glass rectangle, yes, iPhone 15 is nothing exciting. But iOS17 has some tasty new features and the world of USB-C accessories is now open to us so there is excitement in that.

I wouldn't say I'm underwhelmed - just a little disappointed in some things. This year decided to go from Pro to Pro Max and am loving the larger screen. Thought the battery would be better (sucked on my 14 Pro) but I'm not finding it lasts any longer. Hopefully iOS 17 updates will help improve this. Lastly, I wish the natural color was a bit more sandy in color, similar to Starlight. Much more silver/grey than I thought it would be when looking at pictures.

It’s no surprise (and no specific fault of this years model) as these phones continue to be very incremental updates. The buzz is not the same as back in the day when you jumped from say a 3GS to a 4

I still think If I jumped from an 11pro max to a 14pm, I’d feel differently than my 13pm jump to the 15pm.

This is why people need to stop upgrading iPhones so much. I've been saying this for years: there are no meaningful improvements for the majority of users from the iPhone 11 series to the current iPhone series. This continues to be true with the iPhone 15 series.

Stop upgrading. Use your phone until it can't work anymore. Stop wasting money and using up scarce environmental resources.
But then they wouldn't be able to impress all the strangers at their local Starbucks with their shiny new iPhone 15 on release day. You can't possibly expect people to still want to be seen in public with an iPhone 14.

In 2007, I stood in line at the Apple Store. Apple employees made their way down the line offering to let us hold the new iPhone. Holding the object in your hand removed all doubt - this was the most remarkable thing you’d ever held. I waited in line for a long time, but finally got one of my very own.

It’s hard to beat the thrill of the first one, but every iPhone I’ve bought since has delighted me. The 15 Pro Max is also a joy to hold. It’s blazingly fast, the cameras are incredible, and it’s actually lighter than my last iPhone. Truly, this is a time of miracle and wonder.

Returned my 15 Pro yesterday and was able to snag a 15 Pro Max White Titanium 512GB for pick up today. The past few years I've had smaller phones and missed bigger screens and batteries. I'm thinking this upgrade will finally be the one I keep for a few years versus upgrading every year.

Not really. I upgrade yearly, so I don’t set my expectations on every year to be something blockbuster. I’m perfectly fine with new colors and incremental upgrades and/or features added.

Fortunately I’ve had an epiphany & don’t see any justification in trading in my 13 Pro Max for the 15 Pro Max. I’ll swap the battery out in due course (83%) & wait for the 16. The money I’d have spent will be used to buy a new watch, likely Ultra 2 & I’ll pass my series 5 Titanium Edition on to my wife (currently using a series 3).

I’ve accepted that we’re at the same stage with iPhone’s as Macs & PC’s - current Mac is a 2015 11” MBA which I’ve never considered upgrading (likely will do so next year). As far as iPhone is concerned, unless there’s some radical development, going forwards, I feel that three yearly upgrades are going to be the minimum.

I’d note that if they announce the 16 to be globally dual eSIM, I’d likely buy a 15 Pro Max at that point.
