I missed my 13 Pro Max going to a 14 Pro Max (which I sold for a variety of reasons) and used a regular iPhone 14 - I've been very happy going to the 15 Pro Max and no regrets so far!

Ive upgraded from and 11 pro ive loved it so far. Haven't been excited for an upgrade since buying my 11 pro.

Feels so good in the hand and unpopular opinion the titanium blue looks incredible, its so vibrant and the camera surround looks amazing, they have done a super good job with this one I think.

If your upgrading every year it obviously won't be worth it but every 3-4 it really does feel like a big upgrade.

On the other hand I really loved my 11 pro, midnight green is an epic colour and it still works fine but mine is feeling its age. The limited ram would mean apps refresh all the time and loose what you were doing which I found very frustrating.

There is an element of remorse as you become quite attached to material items over the years. My 11 pro is still on 90% battery and although to begin with I could nearly get 2 days out of it was still easily getting me though a day 4 years later.

I felt like there has been almost no reason to upgrade over the last couple of years but this year a these reasons made me upgrade:
  • Price reduction in the UK - cost me the same as my 11 pro 4 years ago
  • 5.8 to 6.1" small but is a nice increase especially when most has come from reduced bezel
  • Ram up from 4 to 8gb on the 15. As described above.
  • USB C - game changer all my apple gear is USB C apart from AirPods pro but I can charge with Apple Watch cable
  • Colour - sounds stupid but I love the blue colour, I really loved the green of the 13 pro but I don't like buying mid cycle. 14 pro was really expensive in the UK and the colours I thought were poor.
  • Camera upgrades 2x to 3x which is great for portraits 78mm close to 80mm ideal portrait length, the 48mp HEIF is a great option and the images look really good compared to the 11 pros 12mp HEIF, raw option is a really nice addition and the fact you can turn it on and off in the app is really useful for me. I work as a photographer and although it will never replace my proper camera these options make it a great addition
  • Titanium - the phone is about the same weight as my 11 pro. I wasn't keen on the heavier 13/14 pro
  • Chamfered edges - I don't like the 12/13/14 edges they are really uncomfortable but I like the slab look. The combination of the 12/13/14 design with the 11 pro rounded edges is pretty much where I thought apple would go and they finally have and it really is the best of the two. Can underestimate how good it feels in the hand and is much less slippery than the 11 pro.
  • Action button is a great addition I love the fact you can change it to pretty much any function you want
On top of that all the other advantages of the last 4 years
  • Magsafe charging
  • 120hz screen and its so bright!
  • Always on, again didnt think I would be that impressed but feels like it should have been like that all along
  • Dynamic island, though it was a gimmick its nice in practice
  • Lidar
  • 5G
So when you look at it like this its a pretty big upgrade, only disappointments so far is the 3nm chip seems like a bit of a non upgrade it certainly doesn't feel 72% faster from the claims although what it enables is cool im just not seeing all the hype of 3nm like battery life... it seems exactly the same which is disappointing after a 4 year wait but then again the screen is always on... not like it was bad before but would have been nice to get 2 days out of a phone thes days.

One thing that did annoy me with the 15 pro launch is the segregation of the products again, if its a pro it should have exactly the same features don't remove a feature because this year you can't add it. The max phones are too big and it annoys me that they gave it an additional camera feature. Doesn't make any sense apart from drive people to spend more money but the standard size is much more ergonomic.

Just got out of the Apple Store and wow what a gorgeous device.

I can imagine being a spoiled TikTok dancing teenager demanding this phone.

Parents must lol at every new release.

I just don’t see the need to get rid of my flawless 8. But damn, the 15 is a seriously beautiful phone and kudos to FoxCon for building such a beauty.

I don’t fault anyone for buying it.

The last one is very underrated - memories. Haven’t seen anyone brought this up before, but I totally agree with you.
For me Apple killed the good memories part when they stopped making phones in deep gold colors and pink leather cases. The years of 7, 8, X, XS and 11 Pro were my favorite "girly" phone years. 😅 Since then I have to live with man colors and a boxy design. Now even leather is gone. iPhones are not the same for me anymore.

1. You use your phone more on a few days you just get it.
2. All the apps, songs, photos, data download will slow it down and heat it faster.
3. Calm down, wait till it finished its business for several days, and then come back here if the problem persists.

From the 8 it will be a huge upgrade, not just in all the usual ways but you would be experiencing a completely different platform and the way you interact with the device. When I moved from an 8 to the 11 pro it was a really exciting upgrade.

Yep, thinking of returning it to get a Fold 5 instead. iPhones have been boring for years now with barely anything new coming to them. The 15 PM is much nicer in the hand and in use than my 14 PM so if I want to stay with Apple it's worth an upgrade but overall it's the same slab we've seen for 4-5 years and doesn't bring much new to the table that makes it more usable.
