I have a lot of apps on my phone. When I switched from IOS to Android I found most of the same apps by name. The few that weren't available on Android I was able to find replacements by other vendors that worked just as well. You just have to search the store. As of today, there are 700,,000 apps in the Play Store, same number as in Apple's store.

You're never going to find everything the same and that's always been the case going back to the beginning of the micro computer days when you had a variety of operating systems - Atari, Commodore, CPM, TI-994, Amiga, etc. To me it's a good thing there are some differences between platforms.

As I said in another post, IOS and Android boil down to individual preferences. I'm able to do so much more with an Android phone that I ever did with my iPhone. But I'm sure there are others who will say exactly the opposite. That's the great thing about having choice - hopefully there is a platform out there that works the way you do.

Didn't even look. did you?

why yes, when I received my Galaxy Nexus and again when I got my Nexus 7, no substitute apps for the ones I use which is why I was saying that it totally depends on each persons use if the selection is good or not.

Yeah I agree with you there. Surprises me though. Usually there is an equivalent app.

I personally haven't had a problem with the selection of twblet optimized apps, however the store needs an upgrade to seperate phone apps from tablet apps.

Right now its like a shot in the dark to find optimized tablet apps but there is a decent amount if you know where to look. The staff tablet recommended apps section for instance.

Android selection for tablets is getting better and better however the way the store is setup getting these apps can be time consuming. I'd almost like it better if google would just make phone apps incompatible with tablets.

Bottomline, I feel as though it is the store layout that is the problem that makes it a pain to find apps rather than the actual availability.
