I'm starting to quite like my machines running out of support.
Same here. I don’t have time for Apple’s forced upgrade.
The hypocrisy is next level:
CVE-2022-42856 is fixed in iOS 15.7.2 and Safari 16.2 for macOS Big Sur and macOS Monterey, but “Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited against versions of iOS released before iOS 15.1.”
I don't really understand why they're doing that.
As always, Apple doesn’t give users what they want, but what they should want.
By withholding this update they're exposing iOS 15 users to security holes if they don't want to go to iOS 16 just yet.
From 9 November 2022 to 13 December 2022, Apple intentionally let iOS 15.7.1 users vulnerable to CVE-2022-40304 and CVE-2022-40303, as I suspected in post #32

Apple does not respond to such questions.
Intego has reached out to Apple for comment. If Apple replies, this article will be updated with the company’s response.

We've reached out to ask whether the company intends to provide iOS 15 security updates for older devices going forward and will update this story if we receive a response.

Yes, and you can still downgrade to that version now If you're using iOS 16, just re-read the guide, it's been completely rewritten.
Thank you, but it’s not for me. I would be just delaying the inevitable for a month or two. :)
