Paying $1,000 for a phone is hard to justify in general. AI is a trap that you shouldn't fall for.
1,000%Given how powerful current phones are, you ought to be able to connect one to a monitor and have it be a Mac.
Get your mini replaced by apple because of the issues. Even if paid.Been testing this iPhone 16 for satellite SOS and to replace my 13 mini that's having issues with 5g uw and overheating. And while I like the 16 without a case, and its comfortable to hold unlike the 14 pro I briefly owned, I'm having a hard time justifying paying 1k for the 16 with 512gb (my mini has 512gb and prefer more storage over paying apple $3 a month for icloud). And it's not about my finances to afford the phone, but its hard to justify when the use case is the same as my 13 mini (aside from satellite SOS for off road adventures).
Maybe if I can say satellite SOS may potentially save my life if I have a breakdown in my jeep with no help for 10 miles out? There's Garmin satellite phone for $400 but there's monthly fee, which I believe is $20 which this iPhone can replace.
Thus far the AI features reminds me of Animoji when that came out. Fun to make my niece laugh a few times but it's very underwhelming. Picture editing, and generative images, for my use case when the heck am I going to use this? AI Summaries? Auto responses to friends? Why have friends if you'll just have Siri respond lol
I was actually looking at swappa and eBay and an unlocked 15 might be great actually buy... but then I somewhat prefer big jumps in generation before I upgrade. Anyway just posting random thoughts about this as I try to justify leaving the mini behind.
I think this apple fan boy has finally gotten over it.
You mean something like samsung dex?Given how powerful current phones are, you ought to be able to connect one to a monitor and have it be a Mac.
I very much agree. I wish they would re release the X with updated internals. It's basically the same phone since the 11 Pro, it just feels worse to hold. If not for a case on my 14 Pro, I'd have already thrown this brick out the window a long time ago.
iPhone X was pure perfection in terms of size, features, and the feel in the hand. Such a shame they didn't keep that design. I don't need 3 tumors protruding from the back of my phone.
Also not a fan of these square utilitarian MacBooks. I liked the original MacBook Air 11" and 13".
Correction, Apple doesn't move that quickly.iPhone 13, that’s your issue right there. Wait 5 years or so if you want meaningful change. Tech doesn’t move that quickly
Many can't wait. Because nobody gives a bleat about stuff until Apple makes it, good or bad, much to the dismay of the competition. It's good to just accept this reality. Can't wait for Apple to "invent" folding phones in 5 years time and watch all the sheep walk around with their £3000 phone acting like it's something new.
That's good advice, but easier for people whose hobbies don't include consuming Apple tech blogs and podcasts. It's more fun when one can play along at home.Better to learn NOT to be a heavy consumer. Just buy a phone when you really need it.
Why would you send it separately from yourself? Keep it on you or put it in a checked bag. For what it's worth, Apple uses FedEx almost exclusively, with light usage of both UPS and DHL. All of the major shipping providers offer insurance, but it's tough to put a number on something irreplaceable (if it's a model that's no longer sold or if it has data that isn't backed up).I want to courier my iPhone container from the USA to the UK, and I’m looking for the safest and most reliable option. Which logistics company is best for handling high-value items like electronics? Are there any companies that provide insurance coverage specifically for expensive shipments? What measures can be taken to ensure the package is secure during international transit? Additionally, how can I track the shipment in real-time to stay updated on its progress?
As I look through some of the patents Apple has received I wonder why so few have been incorporated in the iPhone???
That sounds like you're asking what features would get them on board with the idea of ever-increasing prices for phones. When the innovation I think most people would want is to make phones cost ever-less over time, since the shrinking of components gets cheaper, and the hardware gets less-costly.So what features would you like to see?
