If your service allows it, just enable a personal hotspot with your phone and connect your iPad to it.

iPad Pro Is it worth to spend extra $$ on iPad Pro with cellular?

I normally find using my iPhone Hotspot is good enough.
I also use my iPad on the go a lot, and it has never been an issue, and connecting to the hotspot is easy.

Cellular is a must for me, and I don’t even take my iPad outside all that often. I find that hotspot burns my phone’s battery like crazy, and we have a couple free tablet data lines from T-Mobile so I don’t even have to worry about that monthly charge if I’m not using it all that often!
I wish I could get a free T-Mobile data line. I currently have the 5GB / 150 day / $10 plan.
Yeah we jumped on the promo years ago when it was offered (I want to say it even pre-dated my regular iPad usage). It’s working out on T-Mobile’s end though as well, it’s one of the only reasons I haven’t switched over to another carrier. Although I may switch to Verizon soon
who has the bet service for iPads. I'm using Mint for my Phone but connection and the 5g isn't great in my area
Location dependent. I get great T-Mobile coverage at home (kinda pointless though since there’s wifi) but Verizon’s the best in the location I use it most.
None of the carriers have bulletproof coverage though so I have service on different ones (iPhone: AT&T, iPad: Verizon + T-Mobile 5GB/$10).
yes IMO. i dont want to depend on my phone for the connection and drain my phones battery using it for the connection. of course i always use the att payment plan and all they sell is cellular
If I took an iPad with me everywhere sure. But I don’t. So no. For my 10 yr old? Yes.
After using the M4, I decided to get the unlimited data and hotspot line from T-Mobile for $20 / month (fees and taxes included). I was doing the 5GB / 150 for $10.
I don't want to drain two batteries at once when I'm using my iPad out and about, so I got the cell model. No regrets.
curious, maybe it’s location based but i literally can’t go anywhere in the bay area that doesn’t have xfinity WIFI available.
I'm in Seattle and looking at the Hotspot map in the Xfinity app, there's tremendous number available.
I don't know about iPads, but with laptops you can buy a Bluetooth GPS receiver for $20 on Amazon.
xfinity wifi can only be created through an xfinity router... i suppose it requires me to trust xfinity but my home internet is xfinity so i'm kinda already doing so.
i suppose it's possible a user can hack the router and do funny business?

I think AT&T and Spectrum have a monopoly/duopoly in our area so no Xfinity here.
It only makes sense if your employer pays for it. Tethering to a phone is very usable.
Others here have made valid arguments for purchasing cellular on their own nickel, as I have.
