Is Mountain Lion faster than Lion ?

At present I haven't tested Mountain Lion yet, but to those who have used it
for some time, are you convinced that Mountain Lion has addressed some of the sluggishness that Lion had and in overall; are you happy with Mountain Lion's performance in most of the typical MAC computing experiences such as web browsing (Safari), Mail App, Notification Center and etc ?

I'm thinking about upgrading to Mountain Lion from Lion (at present) but still unsure about the performance level. I'm however quite happy with the IOS integration on offer but the overall OS performance is still the most important factor for me.

Yes. With every OS, the desired outcome is that it serves more purposes than the predecessor, as well as being faster, snappier and more user-friendly. I think Mountain Lion exhibits that perfectly well.
 
I am sure that ML is much faster than Snow Leopard and ı am thinking to upgrade my system at the first day it come to Mac App Store.Should ı or should ı wait ?

Why do you think so ? Is it because of the processing power or the pre-installed RAM ? I'm running a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB Ram and it had Snow Leopard installed when I got it (late 2009) model.

How do you reckon the performance is going to be on mine ?

On my 2009 2.8 GHz C2DMacBook pro 17" with 6gb of ram, ML is not a pleasure to use, and it gets hot, even when I'm not doing something intensive.

That's not to say that it doesn't work, it just seems that the animations are leggy and programs are really slow to open.
 
I'm on a Late Model 2008 MBP with 8GB of ram and a 256GB SSD and it is much faster then Lion was.

Mountain Lion runs very well on my 2007 iMac C2D 2.4GHz w/4GB RAM.

I upgraded from Lion using the standard upgrade method, and performance is noticeably improved. I am surprised that a computer from 5 years ago can still feel responsive and modern!

Very happy to hear that. I'll purchase Mountain Lion with bliss.
 
performance is better on lion 10.7.4 than ML DP4 on my system.

My system:mid-Imac 2010 i7,SSD Raid 0,12GB RAM
 
The new Safari (and Mountain Lion in general) is more GPU accelerated. Should be much faster with the C2Ds since some of the processing is offloaded to the GPU. I have the 2010 base 11" MBA and web browsing is smoother and faster than ever.
 
My late 2009 Macbook runs Lion pretty good.

I had a really bad heat problem at one point (my mac got so hot I thought that the internals had melted because I just shut off, it really freaked me out) but I reinstalled and only put the applications I needed back on and its been fine for 5 months now.
 
I am looking forward to ML, i don't see how it could be any smoother then Lion since my lion has always run perfectly without a problem but i do have a late 2011 model.

If ML is in fact smoother and faster then Lion i will be very surprised but it would be a great surprise!

Is not is a lion with extra features simple as that

Well on my 2008 C2D 2.8ghz iMac with 4gigs of ram it runs faster then both Lion and Snow leopard. The animations are WAY smoother then Lion, especially in Launchpad folders!!!
 
I'm running the new macbook pro retina 2.3ghz, so as you can imagine Lion was already pretty snappy. But comparing the bootups between the 2 operating systems. Lion booted in 10 seconds and ML booted in 7. Other then that, performance seems the same - fast.

Unfortunately something that has been annoying me since Lion has never been fixed. kernal_task is still using between 500MB - 1GB ram -.-
 
My Early 2011 MBP seems faster. Boot time is about the same, but there is less lag opening apps and scrolling.

Have you noticed any issues using launchpad? Does it seem choppy when showing the windows? Also scrolling left and right in launch pad, how's that seem?
 
Performance on my late 2008 iMac and 2008 unibody MacBook is much better then Lion ever was.
