Even rich dudes get sick and die.

It's still sad if he is ill though, because he's only in his 50's. That's relatively young.

Steve Jobs is the illest.

LOL

I feel bad for laughing, now. Thanks :p

But as someone said about the vegan thing, maybe he's just losing weight. I mean, look at him when he returned back to Apple in the 90s. He was really quite chubby. Maybe he's just losing weight.

Either that or he's just buying bigger shirts nowadays ;)

Heh. No need to worry our lord and master. I'm sure he's fine.

WTF are you trying to say? Is it this: I'm really sure he was doing pot in the 60's when it was still legal, so that plus his age right now would spell health problems. Learn to spell it my 1 year old can write better than that:rolleyes:

The spelling police are out again I see.... does it really matter as long as the guy says what he needs to ?...thought not .Even though his point may have been (imho) a little lacking in credibility

His wife put him on a vegan diet. That's enough to make anyone look like a corpse.

People asked the same thing at WWDC 2006, where he looked like he does now.

It's unlikely that he has cancer again. He'd have been falling over on the stage if that was what was causing his weight loss.

Exactly. This question comes up after every keynote. He's looked gaunt for years.

I read that after the cancer episode, his wife put him on a strict vegetarian diet, hence his "light" appearance.

No, he did not look good at all, my bro who is a doctor and who himself has had cancer was very concerned, in fact he was much more concerned about Steve's presence on stage than with any of what Steve was presenting...There is no question that Steve has been relinquishing his role during these keynotes...god forbid if something was seriously wrong with him...he is Apple!!!

Let's pray its nothing more than a vegan diet gone overboard!

I think he's fine, no need to start this fiasco again.

Remember a few years back when people started wondering this? Apple spoke on his behalf to say he was perfectly healthy.

Agreed, he is fine, or at least certainly sounds fine. Boom! End of thread

There is definitely something up.

6 months.

The picture on the left is from the wikipedia page on Steve Jobs, holding a Macbook Air at the beginning of the year.

On the right is a shot of him the other day.

People don't change that drastically in 6 months when they have a cold.

It doesn't even look like him. I would have believed it if I was told that the guy at WWDC was a look-a-like.

Apple is just keeping moot about the whole thing because

1. it's his personal life, he has a right for it to be private.
2. Apple doesn't want to cause panic amongst stock holders.

Well, I hope he's gonna be ok.

Not because I particularly care if he leaves Apple or not (of course, it would leave a big impact if he did and such a thing could be devastating for the company) but because I don't want any other person to be in pain or suffering. And it's not like he's even that old, either.

You could have taken the picture of him 3 months ago at the iPhone SDK announcement. He looked fine then.

After he had cancer he looked terrible. Then at WWDC 2006 he looked like he does today. People said he was dying then. He's looked normal since then up until this WWDC.

He also started the habit of getting others to present parts of the keynote two years ago.

Perhaps he had a relapse back then, and another one now. Or perhaps he was just feeling rotten today.

Steve Jobs has already prepared a plan for apple to dominate the World in 10 years. Don't worry if he's ____ , i'm sure he has chosen his successor.

if he's ____ ?
What?

Ill, retired or…

Passed on?
Ceased to be?
Expired and gone to meet his maker?

Bereft of life?
Resting in peace?
Pushing up the daisies?

Kicked the bucket?
Shuffled off this mortal coil?
Run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible?
;)

Having a "relapse" means he's got active cancer again, which obviously would be a bad thing. Not that I believe this is the case necessarily, but in truth we never did find out much about how he was treated for his previous bout with the disease. One thing we do know is that he lost a lot of weight and his voice was more raspy when he returned, which suggests some form of aggressive treatment. Chemotherapy seems likely, but he would not be getting this now unless he'd relapsed. My main concern is that he's adopted some sort of fad approach to dealing with the disease instead of adhering to a prudent medical one.

....right, like the established medical community has an answer for cancer..., especially pancreatic cancer. He's is better of trying something alternative. Not to mention that a vegan/fish only meat diet is vastly more healthy for a human than munching on cows and pigs. Most of you on this thread do not know squat about alternative cancer treatments, or dietary health in general.

Steve had the whipple procedure. In the Whipple operation the head of the pancreas, a portion of the bile duct, the gallbladder and the duodenum is removed. Occasionally a portion of the stomach may also be removed. After removal of these structures the remaining pancreas, bile duct and the intestine is sutured back into the intestine to direct the gastrointestinal secretions back into the gut.

You try and absorbing calories after having that procedure. 95% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are dead very soon. 99% die within 5 years. The 1%?...maybe they had the courage to go against the western medical monolith of cutting, burning, radiating the object out of you.
