Can you post an image? Everything I've seen on the S9 it looks identical to the S8 from the front = Proportionate bezels top and bottom.
I can't recall where it was. Most of them did look identical to the S8 but some had the lower bezel gone. If I find it I'll post a link. Either way I wouldn't mind an iPhone with no bottom bezel and a strip up top. Looks better then the notch imho

But I (along with many others) don't view the notch as goofy.

The same can be said for many, many others who dislike the notch. It is one of the most discussed items on the X.

I get it, you hate it

I don't hate it. And I never said I did. I expressed that I did not care for the notch when watching video.
So.....you really didn't get it :)

but it's not going away so your choices are adapt to it or continue to hate on it and not buy another new iPhone for the foreseeable future.

To say we will always have the notch is a little short sighted. It is only because Apple needed a way to hide all the great tech that we have the notch. You don't believe that the notch will decrease until technology allows a truly edge to edge design?

The notch is unique and I dig it...
That's great. Now maybe accept that others don't.

Why on earth would anyone buy and then keep a phone they are unhappy with? Odd indeed but to each their own I suppose. If the notch bothered me as much as it does you (you post about it every single thread in existence), It would have went back with the quickness...

If the notch was the only issue a person may not like, why return the phone when the rest of the experience is great? I am sure this is the reason for many.

Because it's a 1K phone. In your case, since your signature says you have the 256GB, it's an $1150 phone.. For that amount of dough it better be perfect or it's going back.. If you are willing to shell out $1150 for a phone that's not exactly what you want then cool. I can't argue that but will say I would not keep it at 1K if I didn't dig the notch or if it bothered me like it does you..

So, when spending $1000 or more, any product needs to be perfect? And spending less than $1000 gives the product a pass?

Not even close to what I said. Now you are just making things up for the sake of wanting to argue. To the block list, have a nice day. :D

Were we arguing? I thought we were having a discussion?
You said, and I quote: "Because it's a 1K phone. In your case, since your signature says you have the 256GB, it's an $1150 phone. For that amount of dough it better be perfect or it's going back."

Yea, Enjoy the day.

You replied with this which is nowhere even close to what I said:

So again, if you are happy spending $1150 on a phone that does not completely meet your needs then cool and I can't argue that. However, I don't think many would subscribe to that line of thinking.

When I heard about the notch it sounded like something that would be distracting and detract from my enjoyment of the phone screen. In reality, after having the phone for a week and a half I've never noticed it during use. I'm fine with it.

Agree.. I was on the fence for a few reason and the notch was one of them. After using it for a few days the notch became irrelevant and I've actually come to appreciate the uniqueness it adds to the phone.

My other worries were faceID and loosing the home button. Again my worries were for naught as faceID works great for me. After using the gestures and getting use to them I don't think I could go back to a home button having iPhone..

Same thing for my wife. On the galaxy s8, people were losing their mind over the bixby key. Some people are never satisfied and need to complain. The notch isn't an issue for most people after maybe half an hour.

Lol the issue with the Bixby key is Samsung is forcing it down our throats lol. Android is sold upon the fact its more open but you have a key that Samsung has refused to be let remapped.

Rapidly becomes irrelevant in use, so overblown.

Be great when it’s gone of course, but it’ll be a few iterations yet.

It is overblown. While I currently own a Note 8 and have gone between iPhone and Android devices I really don't have a preference between OS but features and hardware. The screen is probably one of the biggest reasons and I personally like the saturation of Samsung phones displays. The notch wouldn't be a reason for me to not buy the iPhone X but it is annoying imho. Honestly would of probably bought the iPhone X if it was available when I switched to Verizon. Since I bought my Note 8 in full and no desire to sell it enough to buy an x I will probably wait a few years and see if they remove it.

I think we have discussed the notch enough. It's a design choice and it's here to stay. If you don't like it, there are plenty of other options. How many times can we beat to death the same subject?

I agree but some people will just continue to post their disdain for it over and over and over again...

It’ll stay. It’s cool. Tells everyone you’re rocking an iPhone X.

Thats One thing about the iPhone X, you don’t even have to tell someone which phone you’re using, the notch defines itself when others see the iPhone X, because it’s so distinguishable of a feature.

That's irrelevant. Again, this is a discussion forum. No one is twisting your arm to read the forum and or respond. If a thread violates a forum rule, report it to the Mods.

I personally have no issues with the notch (other than watching video), but understand and accept that others will not agree. Should they not have a voice?
