Do posts in the private forum count toward post count?

Just curious ... :)
https://macrumors.zendesk.com/hc/en-us
If you posted to a thread that was moved to the Wasteland or deleted, those posts will be removed from your total.

Posts made to the Politics, Religion, Social Issues forum are not included in your count. Since January 2006, posts made to the Marketplace forum are not included either.

Individual posts deleted by moderators are also excluded from your post count.
Doesn't say anything about private forums. Then again that rule may be private as well. ;)

I wonder how many posts it will take to get G4?
not sure, im more interested in how many it would take to get the Woodcrest status :p

I might contribute soon, after i hit my 500 post milestone. Is it $25 US, or just $25 from wherever? $US25 is ~$33 here in Aussieland

Yeah it's around $33 here, if I recall correctly. Actually I think I pain $34 but the exchange rate's gone up since.

$25 is really nothing to support a site, community, or organization that you feel is worth it. That should be your main focus. We can't tell you if you would be disappionted in what happens in the private forum or not.

I paid up when I hit 500 posts and was eligible for a 'tar. It's definitely worth doing if you use the site regularly.

Suppose one wanted to pay the $25 to support MR but also likes the ads and wants to keep them...how would that work? :p

Give the $25 to me and I'll give it to MR. The fact that I get an extra year's subscription is neither here nor there.

I know that it's possible to get the demi features turned off while leaving the subscription active, but I don't know how much effort it takes for the admins to do that (and actually, not knowing how much hassle it is to maintain that kind of half-status is why I didn't renew).

lol, and the private forum access? I don't suppose paid members can "invite" random people in for a visit, eh?

Very good...let's see if an admin responds to my questions for a bit more info :)

The ad free front page is a separate URL so if you want them just go to the normal front page, or you could just log out.

well...

I paid, and look forward to paying again, like someone earlier said, ive saved so much money on tech support, and everyone here is so helpful, i just want to support something like this, i dont pay NPR on the other hand, their stupid pledge drives only drives me crazy

Aha, I see :) And what about the ads at the top and bottom of the forums? I don't suppose it's a separate URL for them as well, is it? It's generally the topic-targeted ads surrounding threads that get my attention.

For $25, I'll give you hand-selected and carefully-abridged highlights now and then.

And just for you; a bait-and-switch loss-leader for your perusal...

That is all.

For some reason I am picturing arn in his mountain top castle sitting on rare gems, rubies, and other trinkets on varying wealth.

Whatever, I'm betting that it's an Illuminati conspiracy...

So whats in the private forum that those who pay the $25 get access to?
from what I can tell is that they tend to make 'tars that all have a theme. And my other guess is that they mock mad jew.....

If it gets rid of the annoying ads....does it also get rid of the annoying forum posts/posters? I'd totally pay for that! :D
