from what I can tell is that they tend to make 'tars that all have a theme. And my other guess is that they mock mad jew.....
We don't mock mad jew, we worship him. In fact we get to see his photos almost a full month before he posts them in the public picture thread.

As people have said, joining MacRumors as a paid member (via the Paid Subscription system) should be done to help support the site, not to "buy" $25 worth of benefits. Each of you can judge the value of not seeing ads, having access to a private forum, having the option for a Demi-God, Demi-Goddess, or Contributor title, and knowing that you are helping MacRumors.

Paid membership is not required to discuss Apple news and rumors or to get information and technical help from other members. Those are the main purposes of the site and are available to all.

Here are answers to some specific questions, even those made in jest...

Does the Premium Membership come with Applecare? :p
Sorry, no. :p It's also worth mentioning that paid membership does not exempt members from the forum rules nor the minimum post count requirements for an avatar or to post in certain forums. A few members have joined expecting those benefits, but we don't think that rule exemptions would be fair, since the rules and minimums are there for good reasons.

sweet, I just gotta ask. has mad jew contributed, and just chosen to let his 604 (soon G3:p ) title be?
Members who join but choose not to have a Demi-God, Demi-Goddess, or Contributor title can decide whether or not to acknowledge that they are paid members.

I know that it's possible to get the demi features turned off while leaving the subscription active, but I don't know how much effort it takes for the admins to do that (and actually, not knowing how much hassle it is to maintain that kind of half-status is why I didn't renew).
I don't understand this comment. Are you talking about paying for membership but wanting to still see ads and not have access to the private forum? I believe this is possible, but I'd need to understand what's really wanted.

If it gets rid of the annoying ads....does it also get rid of the annoying forum posts/posters? I'd totally pay for that! :D
Paid membership won't help with that, but you can use the Ignore List feature to avoid seeing posts by specific other members.

Thanks to all of the members who have chosen to pay for a subscription. We appreciate your support of the site. :)

What ads?

lol exactly.

I've re-styled the way MR shows in my browser to my liking, and have hidden the ads in the process.

No need to see something I will never click.
