Better to give consumers the option as to which version of the OS to install.
Offering different operating system versions to install is about as detached from ease of use as I can make it up. I don’t think Apple will consider that option.

I think users should be allowed to have the choice of what they want instead of being forced to have something by law makers.
I think what the EU doesn’t account for are the edge cases that are so in love with a manufacturer or service that they deem additional options that differ from the walled garden as somehow diluting their experience. Ultimately, that is on me, the end user. I determine how I feel every moment of my life. However, life for these end users will not really change to the negative due to having more options to compute with.

Time will tell. I suspect things will get worse for everyone.

They are telling end-users what they have to do. They are telling a corporation what to do.

Fully within their right. Corporations are not citizens and not people. They shouldn't be entitled to rights.
I’d rather consumers having the choice what they want, not the EU deciding for them.

Great as long as users can choose to install iOS without the EU mandated changes.

We discussed this. You are invited to never touch any of these and nothing will change in your end user experience. This is coming. I recommend you wrap your head around it.
Nobody forces you to vote but now you can.

It’s a shame that users arent being given that choice and having it forced on them instead.

You are still on your rights to leave your little walled garden intact. As discussed above.
Great, as long as users can choose to keep iOS without the mandated EU changes then theres no problem; users can pick what they want 👍

Why would you all of sudden need choices when you were content with having none previously. Tell me what aspects of your user experience will be harmed! You act like someone who’s been given a vote and is somehow upset that now they have a choice.

Because this is supposed to be about giving users choice?

So from a situation without you now have choice. Go and celebrate. Apple was not willing to innovate on that front without a nudge. I understand not everyone can appreciate that or will follow their random agenda to somehow blame the EU for having it.

Choice has arrived, now deal with it.

Like I said, that’s great that users can choose to take or leave the EU mandated changes in iOS. It gives users the ability to choose to allow third party app stores or not.

Nerfed? Nerfed in what way? If giving you more freedom of choice (that you don't have to take) is nerfed, I'll take it. What i'm more anticipating is half the world wanting to find some sketchy way to install the so-called 'nerfed' EU version on their non-EU iphones. EU customers who are scared the bogey man might get them if they dare venture out of Apple's fluffy-walled garden will still be able opt to stay within it if they want. How is offering choice, 'nerfed'?
