Hi, I've been an iPhone fan for a long time and currently have a iPhone 4S but my 2 years contracts up so I am going to sell the 4S and get a new iPhone. Normally I would just upgrade to the 5 or wait for the 5S or the 6, but once I played with the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy, my jaw dropped... Those two phones are way better than what Apple can offer us right now in every aspects. Same price but you get a better product and more features.

I really don't think Apple will skip iPhone 5S and make the 6, the 5S will probably just be a small upgrade from the 5 with same size of screen... They can't still compete the 5S with the HTC and Galaxy... What do you guys think? Hopefully some of you can change my mind not giving up on Apple phones.

It all depends upon what you do with a phone. It it the whole Apple infrastructure - with the cloud and itunes etc. that you are getting with Apple. If none of that is important then Apple isn't.

Other than bigger - what are all the things that you think those other phones have over Apple?

Yup - I did bite.

Thanks for your answer, I am not here to troll. If you have some knowledge about the iPhone 5, you should know that it's not the best phone out there on market right now.

HTC One has:
Better design (hardware and software), better build, better screen, a camera built for all situations, IR Blaster, best sound quality on a mobile phone.

I have no desire to change your mind so if you like the HTC One then buy it -- its a well reviewed and overall nice smartphone. However, I wouldn't say the One is "way better". It's certainly better at some things -- which I would expect since the iPhone 5 has been on the market since September of last year and the HTC one has been out for just a few months now. There are a number of core features that the iPhone is still the best at.

This is most certainly not "the end" of the iPhone. Sales are very brisk and the 5s will be out in the fall along with a redesigned iOS -- and who knows what other features.

I know size isn't everything... I would like something that'll fit into my pocket comfortably. But bigger screen does have more upsides.
Nope, not even gonna try. Yes, it's "the end of iPhone."

Enjoy your Galaxy S4.
I am leaning more toward the HTC One.

Yup I agree... I am so use to iTune, I know I will still use iTune for listening to music (maybe). I am also use to how IOS work, because I've been with iPhones like forever. But the truth is that I think the iOS layout is very updated and not a lot that you can do with the interface VS the HTC One.

I am absolutely positive that it is being announced next month on June 10 at WWDC. After that, it will probably be release in September or October but it will definitely Be announces next month.

Why do you need your mind changed, just buy what works for you. It's not a matter of life and death.

Better design - What YOU think is better.

better screen -What YOU think is better.

a camera built for all situations - em...proof?

IR Blaster - pointless

best sound quality - What YOU think is better.

The ONLY interesting feature of the HTC One is the outward facing speakers, but when I think about it....I'd never really use them.. a phone is mainly used with headphones..... no?

I totally understand where you are coming from. But lets not forget, while these companies are actively looking to BEAT out iphone's features, they release them early, trying to get the jump on apple, and they perform very ...substandardly. Take for instance, my sister-in-law got the S4. She was trying to show me the new features like "scroll via your eyes" and "wave to scroll" etc....While they are awesome features, she couldn't even get them to work right half the time. Seriously.

That's where iPhone takes the cake. They make sure it is perfected upon release, and that the features work AS PLANNED.

Word of warning, I would wait out for the iPhone 5s to see what they have up their sleeve. Don't get me wrong, if the iPhone 5s fails to live up the the expectations, Apple is in deep doodoo. But I know apple, they are working on something...something that will allow them to say "Did you really think we were slackin over here in cupertino?"

I just don't want you to be locked in to a Samsung, Nokia, LG, then when the 5s comes out, you are going to have remorse for jumping ship. It's happened to me before. And I learned better.

Once again (and again, and again) there seems to be an inability to distinguish the meaning and definition of the concept of "opinion" from the meaning and definition of the concept of "fact".

So when new phones come out 6 months after the iPhone with some better specs, it's the end of the iPhone. Does that mean that when the next iPhone comes out 6 months after that with some better specs, it's the end of other phones?

Therefore, the mobile phone market would be at its end! :D

Nice. I 'll prob wait for the WWDC then... Hopefully iOS will offer more customizability.

Do you think a Lamborghini has a better design than a ferrari?

Yes. The 458 is looks lame compared to the Aventador.

Better design - What YOU think is better.

better screen -What YOU think is better.

a camera built for all situations - em...proof?

best sound quality - What YOU think is better.

The ONLY interesting feature of the HTC One is the outward facing speakers, but when I think about it....I'd never really use them.. a phone is mainly used with headphones..... no?

Hardware design: The HTC one has the best processor chip on the market to datea: 1.7GHz quad-core processor, the iPhone 5 has an ancient A6 chip that's only 1.3GHz and dual-core.

Software design: Andriod phones are way more customizable.

Screen size: The HTC One’s 4.7″ display is bigger than the iPhone 5′s 4″display, making it better for video, web browsing and most apps. The HTC One’s display has a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels), matching most HDTVs’ resolution, while the iPhone 5′s display has a resolution of just 1136 x 640 pixels. The HTC One packs 45% more pixels per inch (PPI) in its display than the iPhone 5 (468 PPI vs 326 PPI). At the end bigger screen offers better readability for all ages.

Camera: The iPhone 5 camera is pretty good as far as smartphone cameras go, but the iOS camera app leaves a lot to be desired. One reason iPhone users download so many camera apps is because the stock camera app doesn’t do much beyond snap photos and shoot video, just like it has since 2007. Yes, Apple’s added Panorama and HDR modes, but users have to launch a photo editing app to apply filters or otherwise tweak photos.

IR Blaster: If you say it's pointless. I guess it's pointless for all :)

Sound: A phone is mainly used with headphones? ..... No

Specs are so trivial when each operating system demands different power requirements. It's all about the actual experience of using it. :p
