In-screen fingerprint sensor will be commonplace in 2019 and after.
You’re saying literally next year that’s what we will see?!

In-screen fingerprint sensor will be commonplace in 2019 and after.
That's because Apple has said it is.Seems like the general consensus that Face ID is going to be the only future for iPhones.![]()

Hasn’t this horse been beaten enough?
It won’t be coming back. Thankfully Face ID is so fluid and useful, I don’t miss Touch ID at all.
I’m using the Xs. I’ve never used an X though. So maybe Face ID wasn’t as good on the X?Are you referring to the new generation of iPhone X?

Can’t wait to see what the galaxy s10 brings. I’ll be upgrading to that from my X most likely if it has the indisplay finger print sensor. I hate Face ID. And I’ve had my X since late November of last year.

People want to deny it, to grasp at any straws that might hint that there will be a return. But Apple has declared FaceID as the future. What else is there to argue about when the source itself has said it's dead?
TEveryone seemed to have glossed over this, but Federighi in one of his interviews added a caveat that there are cases in which multiple forms of biometrics makes sense.

Touch id is far superior, faster and easier than face ID will ever be. This is one of the reasons I will not upgrade past an iphone 8. The lack of a headphone jack also turned me away from updating phones.
