Such a precious picture, your cat is very cute. Just hope that the box will continue to provide that comfort. ;)

Duff-Man says....wow...there is a lot of animosity in here towards cats....I know some of you just think you are being funny but saying things like "..close the lid, tie a rope around it...and throw it off a bridge..." is not really funny at all. Cats make for great pets - I have 2 myself - and they are my friends, I adore them, and they provide me with an endless source of amusement....they are funnier to watch than just about anything I see on my television. They are affectionate and friendly....sometimes even more so than the dogs I have owned (I like dogs too!).....oh yeah!

I actually thought it was hilarious, but only because it sounds exactly like something my uncle would say and the way he says stuff like that makes it really funny. Not that anyone here would care or even know what I mean, except for maybe one other person here.

My cat likes boxes too. I think all most all of them do. He also likes to rub against my LCD. I guess he likes the warmth. Would you all like a picture of him too?

I was only trying to be funny :) , however having said that i have a lot of animosity towards feral cats they are a big problem in australia, i once saw one that was several generations feral, man it was huge with teeth about twice the size of a regular cat, needless to say we shot it, domestic cats i don't really have a problem with as long as they are contained and looked after which sadly does not happen around here as much as it should , one of the reasons there has been such a reduction in native wildlife, especially birds in australia

Your cat is just like mine

Your cat is just like mine. When he was a kitten he used to sleep in a napkin holder. You can tell how small he was.

I read something that domestic cats probably came from cats that lived in the desert....which is why that house cats like to lie in the sun, don't like getting wet, and like burying their waste in sandy places (like the sandbox!
From what I have heard, cats are very prone to pneumonia; hence the general dislike to getting wet. Anyhow, I have two cats, shall I post a pic? One's more shy than the other though, I can never get a good pic of him! :p

I love cats, so don't think me a bad person.

But I would contend that cats are ALWAYS plotting, looking for an angle. Remember, it is they who allow us to live with them.

We are merely payers of rent and utilities, producers of food, cleaners of "the box," etc. We can easily be outsourced in the humble estimation of the feline. Make no mistake. :)

I was thinking the same thing. It would make a great coffin!

That isn't at all what I was thinking. Animals do become attached to thing, so it would be a shame if it fell apart.

in response to the comments on cats searching for an angle... INDEED :D cats are so funny, but their little snotty attitudes are a bit tiresome at times, I am mostly a dog person.

I was thinking of getting a cat though, I haven't had one in years and I'd kinda like to have a furry pet (I only have two large aquariums currently)
I'll probably get a persian, I can't resist those flat, angry-looking faces :p then everyone will have to endure my picture taking [haha]

my friend works at a bookstore where its trademark is that every shop has a himalayan cat. well one day i came in and i saw that they shaved boom boom like that. so cute :p

anyways, he was sooo happy and was prancing around in his little cat boots until a few customers came in and laughed at him. apparently he got embarassed and hid under the bookshelves for the remainder of the summer.

i figured i'd join the wagon. this is riku. he's a flame-point siamese. he likes my panty cubicle and he gets REALLY angry when you point and laugh at him

Wow! An orange siamese cat! Lying in a pile of panties! That made my day. :D

I used to have a cat named Mimi. She was a tortoise shell-backed tabby. Unfortunately, we had to have her put down because she had nerve damage and had lost use of one of her hind legs. :( Her digestive system wouldn't work and she couldn't eat.
