Anyone knows if there will be a difference from the latest GM which was released on Sep 15th?.

Probable a new version ID string at a minimum to signify the final release.

Indeed I noticed that as well. It also put the date around the right way for the NZ site "21/9" - nice touch.

It's funny that some countries still use the old style date. I'd get confused if looking at 2/3 or 3/2 as you wouldn't know which it is.

usually 6pm

Then the servers can't handle the traffic, might be more efficient to start the download later.

Makes you wonder if Apple has mirrors all around the world or handles the OSX downloads only from CA.
iOS big upgrades usually go very quickly, OSX updates have (to my experience) always been a PITA.

iOS10 was 800 MB - 1 GB ? Not that big difference with an OSX update (little more than 1 GB).

They use CDN's ... http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/C/CDN.html

And El Capitan was 6.21GB

Why would you think that it is "the old style"? They are different styles. And, to be honest, I think "21/9" makes way more sense because you have day/month/year: you go from the most specific to the least.

isn't the month/day/year style part of the imperial thing? even as as I type it, I'm thinking probably not. But still, which countries other than the US use that style?

They probably have mirrors everywhere, but if it's 6pm, it's 6pm PT, Cupertino time. So it's 3am in Europe...

my mas is fine as well, no sierra only capt. I did see an xcode v8 but it seems it was there since sept 13, but anyways I'm updating mine, weird that I needed to press install and was never in the updates section.

Apple has removed the MacOS Sierra GM . . .

Indeed! The 16A323 installer has disappeared from my "Purchased" tab in the App Store app as well.

Don't you just love it when Apple does things on your machine without letting you know about it? . . . well, not exactly on your machine, but you know what I mean. :)

Update: Interesting. If you use the command line version of MAS and use the list command, Sierra is not listing there with its identifier either, as it did before.

In fact, I have been wondering lately if Apple has some of its employees check forums and threads like this one, and then finds and implements ways to frustrate our methods of getting builds for supported and unsupported machines other than through official channels. It seems to make sense that they would do something like that.

Are we in fact shooting ourselves in the foot by so publicly discussing these things? :)

BTW, it is currently Wednesday, September 21st, 2:21 AM here.
