My ETA is 3 hours and 20 minutes...and I have a 12 Mega ADSL. It's Apple's fault right?

Downloaded in the UK in less than 10 minutes! It's taking longer to run Carbon Copy Cloner on the drive before the upgrade (just in case!)

doesn't show up on app store for updates yet; is it better to download it from the search and download? or doesn't matter?

15 mins till install completes. Had just finished backup when it went live. Excited to see what's new.

My internet is 40mb down and it took 24min, so check your speeds and maybe reconnect w a cable instead. I would use the official one since it just released so you knwo you go tthe right final one. Apple server side seems to be fast enough that it would not be the source of your slowness.

They just released Safari 10 for El Cap. as well as an update. So Sierra should be live any minute.

:apple:
sierra has been live before you posted by about 10 minutes :)

Oh, those Apple rascals!

Even though Sierra is no longer showing up when I use the list command with mas-cli, I decided to type in "mas install 1127487414" anyway, just to see what would happen.

Interestingly enough, while the download is proceeding at 24%, it is NOT showing up on the "Purchased" tab in the App Store app.

Soon enough, I will know if I am getting the final release, or not. :)

Update: The download completed successfully, and the final release is 16A323.

I also had to search to find it. I would have thought they would have plastered it up on the Featured page. Oh well, download is in progress! For the MacBook anyway...

Looks like it's about time to retire the iMac 9,1. Can't get Sierra on her :(

I think the way this works is that if you have the GM and you don't see anything new in the software updates tab then the system assumes you already have the final and won't show any more versions till the next release or the next beta. Again, that is what I remember happened on EL Cap release day.

So what's the suggestion/what do I need to do? Cheers
