For Week, look at your serial number, and the week will be the two digits after the first #7.

For Screen, go to System Prefs>Display>Color and open Color LCD. Click on line 13.. the model will be either 9c67 or 9c68, LG or Samsung respectively

Thanks amitface.

The manufacturing week is 26 and the model is a Samsung.

Well again, what you are effectively saying is that your laptop goes into sleep one second after you close the lid which would make it the fastest sleep mode laptop on the face of the earth! You must have an extraordinary laptop!

Well, it is what it is......:)

I am a 'switcher' who also received a perfect mac (macbook c2d 2ghz) couple of months ago. I had been browsing on here before the purchase and I seen all the problems listed such as discoloration of wrist areas and cracking cases and this made me wary, but I took the plunge and absolutely love it!

Not only have I been using built in music software such as garageband which was one reason I purchased, but the other iLife programs which I thought I wouldn't need. Added to this is the benefits of fluent CS3 use (for my basic needs) despite not being a pro model and the flawless software and hardware included. I couldn't have asked for more!

Another perfect MBP! Hurrah!!

Me too!
2.4 15" matte. Week 26. Samsung.
Nary a blemish or funny sound.
At first I thought she was running hot but after reading up on the forums it seems that idling in the low 40s and 75c for Wolfenstien is dandy.

She's also my first laptop and I upgraded from an iMac G3 DV!!
It's like trading in a Toyota for an X-wing:D

Her name is Rosalinda
(Am I the only one that names their hardware? My iPod's name is Uther.)

Congrats to all.

Go Apple!

:)

Perfect 2.4GHz MBP!

3.5 weeks of waiting and my new MBP has finally arrived too! It's perfect as well, no flaws (as far as I'm concerned). I'm loving the glossy display,, at least it looks better than my iBook's matte display. :D

Another member of Team Perfect

Hello all,
Had my 2.4Ghz MBP for just over 2 weeks and it is absolutely fantastic. Upgraded the RAM to 4Gb and it flies. 17" Hdef glossy screen is beautiful, no discolouring or graininess. Its an LG screen. Sound is amazing through built-in speakers. 160Gb 7200 hard disk is fast and quiet.

I've installed all manner of extra software and utilities and all work perfectly and cause no problem to the MBP.

I'm a long-term PCr and have to run Windows a lot for my job so have installed XP, Vista, Server 2003, etc all under various Parallels VMs. All work great.

So I have no regrets about switching and would just say Enjoy and don't go looking for problems with a great machine.:)

Hey, I am just curious, all of you with a perfect SR mbp, you guys aren't experiencing Kernal Panics when being connected to wifi running on the battery? If you aren't, what router are you using? I am starting college in September and I am really wanting to buy a mbp soon, but all the issues posted on this forum is causing me to hestitate whether to get it or not. I think my safest bet is to wait until October when Leopard is released, and see if the problems are resolved by then. If not, I could buy the older mbp.....I'm a currently a pc user with a 5 year old machine, and I am very anxious to make the switch!

Just chiming in with another 'perfect Macbook'. I just got mine this week after running my ibook into the ground. I definitely love the glossy screen and widescreen. It's lightning fast, and the magnetic lid is pretty cool, though I always was told never to put a magnet near a screen.

I got a the 2.0 Ghz Macbook with 2 gigs of RAM and a 120gig hardrive.
