Great battery life
I was able to finally do a full run on the battery to test the run time while doing 'real world' work.
At approx 12:38 am the computer was switched over to the battery. The power profile was set to normal, Bluetooth was off, Wireless was off, plugged into the 'net via Ethernet to a router to a High Speed modem. Screen was at 2/3 brightness (which gives me about the same illumination as my old PB G4).
-Ran a DAW (audio editor) for about 1 hour to finish off a small edit project.
-The I ran Safari, Mail, and a terminal for a while.
-Downloaded a couple of programs from Apple to test, and a couple of updates from Sourceforge on a few projects that I've been following.
-Installed the progams, (one of which was a variant on the Marathon engine)
-Ran a 3d fps for about half an hour.
-wrote a bunch of emails
-browsed the MacRumors Forums.
The computer finally dropped into self imposed sleep at 4:58 am. The battery allowed a total of nearly 4.5 hours of running while active doing various common tasks (mostly common). Considering that my old PB G4 when new was lucky to last 2.5 hours, having 4.5 hours of reasonably active uptime felt like an eon.
