And Google Play Music is significantly more streamlined and stable than Apple Music.
I prefer my iPhone to any android phone but google music is a lot better than Apple Music. At least I can use google music without fear of it messing up my music library. Apple Music I dare not even activate.

Google maps is without a doubt better than Apple maps.

I think I would agree that battery life is far superior on the 6S +. However if were getting 5 hours screen time on an android phone considering it would have a higher resolution than the 6 plus I'd be more than happy. The only issues I have is poor standby battery life and those rouge battery days when your battery just rapidly drains for no apparent reason.

I think iOS excels in fluidity and overall polish, integration between devices, ecosystem as a whole and the software is a better fit to the hard ware. That's what keeps me on iOS.

It's such an easy thing to think about. How could you possibly have your screen on for twelve hours unless it's all you do?
It is possible. All you have to do is set the iPhone onto the lowest dim setting, turn off WiFi, cellular, mute the phone and then set it on a table and do nothing. Then tap the screen once every 9 minutes and 59 seconds.
You should be able to get 10 hours of SOT. You won't be able to use the phone at all, but you can show all your friends how much SOT you can get. LOL

You can secretly just plug it in. Viola! Infinite screen time.

It always makes me wonder what people are doing to have these issues. I'm on a Nexus 6P and I'm experiencing none of the issues you're referring to. I spent 5 months with Apple Music and hated it. Spent one week with Google Music and love it. My entire music library is now in Google. Took forever to upload but it's there now. Uploading things to Apple Music was a nightmare, not to mention all other issues I had. As for apps you don't want running all the time... download Greenify. My default battery life lasts all day, but Greenify makes it even better.

Do rogue battery days never happen for you on iPhone? I haven't used an iPhone for a couple of years, but a friend of mine tells me they do still sometimes occur for him. Is there a tip for preventing them altogether?

I never have them on my iPhone 6S Plus (or on my 6 Plus previous) . Battery is always pretty much consistent regardless. Still happens occasionally on Android, but not as bad as it used to be (whether Doze : Marshmallow is helping here in that regard).

Its always amazes me how little some iphone users know about their phones. Like usage numbers do not equal screen on time SOT.

Well, let's see.

5 hours in day one. Battery is still at 60%.

5 hours in day two. Battery is now at 20%.

You use it without plugging it in for more than a day. It's a novel concept for Android devices.

I should clarify, I'm not referring to the PAID SERVICE Google Music or PAID SERVICE Apple Music. I'm talking about the App experience, which is absolutely horrible. Upload some songs from, let's say.. the Weeknd and watch as Google Play Music replace them with non-explicit versions. Then try to fix your entire 10gb library.

At least with iTunes you can bypass all of that, but Google refuses to make an iTunes software equivalent and relies on its play.google.com web service instead.

I agree. I started with the original galaxy note and it had a lot of rouge battery days. The last android phone I had was the S5 and it happened a lot less.

well if you are talking about the non paid versions, you don't have to use google music as your main music playing app. When I was using android phones I did allow all my music to be uploaded to google music and some of the songs were changed to say the non explicit version. However I had all of my music stored on an SD card and used a third party app.

On the iPhone Apple don't give you the option of uploading your songs unless you either pay for iTunes Match ot subscribe to Apple Music.

Dudu.. Is it coutine screnn usage? Or it is just your immigrations? Remember iOS usage time include any background things while your screen is OFF!

I challenge your do continuously use with your iPhone. For example continuously YouTune streamming and web broswering and gaming. That what I did with my Moto G and I got impressive 6 hours of sceen on time with 7% battery remaining.

And if you count, that is around 8 hours since last full charge. This phone can easily last you 2 days with mix of usages.

And what you did is just saying you get this amount of battery time, but without saying any about your usage pattern.

2) Music! Don't even get me started. Google Play Music is still a beta service. Duplicate tracks, replaced explicit tracks, app not refreshing, taking days to update from changes to online, any changes to playlists not updating for ages. Poor performance in App. Horrible interface. I'm now resorted to using Shuttle + iSyncr. GPM is the epitome of horrible Google coding and engineering. Perpetually stuck in beta software state.

You don't have use Google Play Music. All you have to do is copy and past to your SD card and you can listen to any music with other music player.

And, you'd think Apple would offer you store 50,000 song for free, well, in your dream.

3) Maps! How does Google Maps performance worse in rendering and framerate on Android than iOS? Shameful

Google Maps' performance is absolutely fabulous on Android, even with low end Moto E.

4) Apps! Generally, the big name apps are OK. But when looking at most of the equivalent apps on my iOS device, they are almost always behind in features or performance. Google Apps actually perform worse as well, Chrome for example is never consistent in scrolling acceleration and rendering performance. It works better on iOS (probably because Chrome uses Safari's rendering in iOS).

I agree with Android app on tablet suck ball, but not so much on Phones. All apps I am use are similar with iOS version.

nice....so where is the SOT from that? Because I have a 6s+ and it does not show me SOT. But I do agree that battery life is awesome! But IOS does not give accurate SOT.

It almost 2016 when is Apple going to make iTunes for my Linux desktop. When is Apple going to let me transfer files from my Linux desktop to my phone and on and on. Apple could make the super bestest phone ever but it won't work for me so I don't buy them. Android won't work for you the way you like so I recommend not buying one.

How can you say that with a straight face? Apple Music on Android is so buggy right now that it crashes on me without even playing a song and wants to force me to sign up for a subscription just to listen to free Beats 1 radio. The UI is rather bland too. Spotify, Google Music, Soundcloud, etc. are superior and free to stream radio.

Your experience isn't the same as anyone elses. I too hate the Google music app. I can count on one hand the amount of times that I've played music on my my Note 4/Note Edge because the experience for me is just bad.

The iPhone music app for me has ben the most reliable thing, it never crashes although I do think it's a little cluttered in some spots.

Google doesn't censor what I upload even in the free version. You need to uncheck the setting that censors music. The app experience has been great for me so far. Sorry yours has been awful. Apple's music offerings have their own set of problems which you can find all over these forums. And why are you comparing iTunes to a streaming service? You can't stream any uploaded music unless you subscribe to Apple's music services. What point were you trying to make? I'm confused.

Google will never make an iTunes equivalent. iTunes is all online except for the music you download for offline listening. If you like iTunes use iTunes.

5 hours sot is pathetic. My 6s plus easily goes to 10-12 hours before hitting 20%

Google play music is awful. It duplicated all my tracks and ruined all of my playlists. It works for you now but when you switch computers or something, watch it become screwed up to hell. The app is absolutely awful in performance and frame rates too

Google Play Music is absolutely great, I used it from launch until a couple months ago, because I got free Spotify. I've never had my playlists duplicate/break because of device switching. I personally think that it is more smooth than Apple Music, which is giving me a connection error every time I open the app. Play Music also does take a while to update playlists, (not days though) and you can manually refresh your playlists in settings. I am thinking this post is a troll.
