I just bought an iPod touch 4g to supplement the two ipad's I have.

I am starting to think that I wasted my money on the iPod touch. It is definitely not as useful as an iPad, nor as fun to use....

"Well this iPad came from Elvis using Chuck Norris as a elephant banana skin, therefore the onions shall not cucumber your sauce, but only a violin is more plutonium then a hedgehog named Simon."
:apple::cool:

If someone tells me this, I will simply respond "yes and it's a big iPhone too...", pretend to dial a phone number, then put it up to my ear like a boom box and pretend to get engrossed in a phone call.

I get this almost every single day in class, for e most part I make them feel like idiots for not seeing the potential in the device, or my other response is simply: have you ever used one? 7/10 will say no which makes it easier to tell them to bugger off. It's funny, all my friends that give me crap for buying it always ask if they can play with it when they come over to my apartment. :p

Its just a big iPod touch you wasted your money

^^^^how do you respond to that when people say that?^^^ today I was typing up a paper in school and the kid next to me looked at me and told me I wasted my money when he asked how much paid for it...like I love it but i didn't know how to respond.

Don't own one. I have used one but for my tastes I like screen real estate. I like big screens. If Apple ever comes out with a 17" high resolution antiglare screen ipad I will become a convert. Until then my 17" MBP NEVER leaves my side....

We're very happy for you...but we didn't ask.

Something tells me that in a good amount of time, you're going to reflect on this and facepalm in dues to your own realization that... y00 dun goof'd.

I'm just going to pretend that this is 4chan for a post

It's not what it can/can't do, it is about what it can do better.

iPad apps are amazing in my opinion.

Why'd you buy that 60 inch flat screen? It's just a bigger version of a 10" one.

My response is, "That's what people say when they can't afford one."

I think giving an answer like this really makes one seem smug and I think the Mac community is better than that. Even if they're the ones who started it, what is this, kindergarden?

I don't own an iPad or see its usefulness (for me) but I know that it works for many other people out there and its a very useful device for some. I think people who bash the iPad are just a little too engulfed with the idea that their opinions are always right, no matter the situation or place. People like this should just be avoided in general, so tell them that it works for you or just nod and move on, no need for the silly punchlines.

I can see how this could get annoying though :)

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. If there ever was something "smug," it's the tone of your "lecture."

Oh, and putting a "smilie" at the end of your pointless drivel doesn't make it appear any less "smug" and arrogant. Nice try, though.

I agree with chocolate632, there's no need to come up with a judgemental line to belittle people who don't understand the worth of an iPad. At least you can be content knowing you've got a cool product.

Heck, I bet Bill Gates doesn't own an iPad, but he sure can afford one.

It's the poor attitudes of some people in the Apple community that give the rest of us a bad name.

Another "pot calling the kettle black" post. You chastise others for being judgemental when the focus of your post is of a judgemental nature.

Nobody asked how you feel about the subject of this thread.

Well how else can I make it clear that I disagree with your statements?

My opinion is every bit as valid as yours.

Well for Builts defense, most of the people who say that's it's a big iPod touch are really looking for an argument, I don't walk up to PC users and tell them their how many viruses they can get. The people who say this are usually the ones who think they are really smart by not buying one and want to put others down for buying something that's new. The that's what they say when they cant afford one line Is just a quick comeback

Sorry if my post came off smug, that was never really my intention.

I was just trying to state my opinion on what you should say when someone comments on your iPad. I don't really think putting people down is right, especially by calling them poor. Saying you can afford something that they can't is just pure mean in my opinion. Forget that whole bit about "avoiding people like that in general", I see that I was being a bit judgemental and I apologize for that.

And by the :) at the end of my post, I was just trying to say that I see your side of the argument, even though I don't agree with what your saying.

This is a forum, I can state my opinions, correct?

That's true, and I can understand how it can get annoying and make you want to use some quick one-liners, I was just stating my opinion and my method of responding to people who ask me those types of questions. I guess i'm just not the arguing type! :)

My reply would be:

"Yeah, people with small minds might think that."

Then I would smile and turn away.

This is why it's not a giant iPod Touch

I would say have you ever actually used one? Cause if they had then they would clearly see that is is not a netbook and not an iPod Touch it is it's own thing!

It quite clearly is not a giant iPod Touch, I have an iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad and they each have a place and purpose in my life. Touch and iPhone are way too small a screen for any serious internet browsing and the iPad is far more multi-functional in real life! I mean you can actually create documents and spreadsheets, respond properly to e-mails, edit photos, watch movies and tv etc etc etc. Personally I use both my iPad and iPhone every day. Take a look at my full iPad review by clicking on link below.
