Really, Samsung? That's the best line you could come up with in your latest ad? It doesn't even make logical sense

Customers know and understand that the iPhone does not have wireless charging, but there are ways to showcase how useful the feature could be rather than just saying we have it and the iPhone doesn't. They don't seem to understand that it's not always all about the iPhone.

When they directly display the iPhone in their ads, it's basically free advertisement for Apple. They can't win by attacking the iPhone in that way, because comparisons make them look desperate (Yes, the iPhone is the iPhone, but look! It doesn't have this, haha!).

They need to forget the iPhone comparisons and showcase their product's strengths for once.

Lol, Samsung is a funny company. Their hardware is top of the line, but their marketing department sucks ass nowadays. I remember the commercials they made about Apple having non-removable batteries, etc. then they go make the phones similar to the iPhone. Once Apple adds wireless charging next year, I wonder what they will say then?

Respect to Apple for not even responding to the 4904934 amount of Samsung ads they have put out about them.

You're absolutely correct. There's a reason why their Galaxy S3 ads were successful, but that's in the past. Things are much different for them now.

Apple is doing the right thing by not responding to those commercials. In fact, "If it's not an iPhone, it's not an iPhone" pretty much sums it all up ;)

They think it's all about the hardware, but that's just a third of it. The rest comes from the software and services, something that they've yet to realize and could use quite a bit of help in.

Yeah, that worked in the past, but not so much now.

That Apple commercial wasn't directed at Samsung, it was directed at the whole industry.

Love it lol

Lots of sour grapes lately lol lets be honest the gs6,edge note 5 and edge plus are hands down the best looking phones and have the best hardware hands down.

The apple add is directed right at Samsung and they came right back at apple with a perfect response.

It's not a phone its a galaxy!

Disagree. Samsung phones have really bad stuttering coming from a nexus, iPhone or moto x. I had to return my note 5 because I couldn't take it anymore.

They just need to focus on software and spend less money on crappy ads.

I must admit I cringe when both Apple and Samsung use this sort of marketing cheese. It's not a phone it's a galaxy is as bad as Apple saying the iPhone is magical. No it isn't guys your phones are just very good phones and well done, but don't overdo it lol.

At least it's a small upgrade from those "iSheep" ads where Samsung ridiculed millions of people(and potential buyers) just because they had an iphone. I always hated their marketing, is just stupid because in my opinion they should make ads where they show their strengths of the phone like wireless charging/Amoled/etc because that's what make you look confident, not comparisons which can make you look weak(desperate) as OP stated. Also, i think that Samsung should also take a battle with other android companies, that's where the other part of market share is and focus on that damn software.

It's childish. I love iPhone and I love Galaxy, but watching Samsung ramble on about things the iPhone doesn't have (that if you look at it, most phones on the market have them anyway) just gets on my nerves. Just cut it out Sammy.

It's very good marketing, just like Apple. For instance at the keynote Cook was in the stage and stated they lead ALL the markets, which they don't it's all just sales talk. Get the fans all hyped to buy the products.
Apple has made just as many bad adverts attacking PC's, all marketing folks.

Also it is advertising company's who came up with the ideas, not Apple or Samsung etc.

Advertising company which is hired by Samsung.

When you see ads like this(So Samsung users are wall huggers now? :) ) from Apple, then i will gladly call them in every negative way. I hope you can see why Samsung advertising is just wrong.

It actually makes perfect sense to me.

They know their biggest competition is not Apple but the plethora of other Android phones. They differentiate themselves by their software experience and things people expect from Samsung & Touchwiz.

Hence "it's not just a phone" (clearly referring the myriad of other devices vying for your attention & cash) "it's a galaxy" emphasis on their software experience & hardware associated with the "additional reaffirmation by using Galaxy" brand.

I honestly can't see the confusion.

It's the laggiest phone no doubt!

I posted a youtube of me bashing my gs6 with like 20 apps and it was smooth.

Maybe you had the phone on power saving mode or maybe you never had a note 5 ?

I agree, they have the best hardware. There's no arguing there, but I will say that software and services, to me, are more important. I know Apple sounds cliche when they say that their devices work perfectly because of the integration between hardware, software, and services, but it's true. I can't think of another company that does it as well as they do.

dunno man, they do have some nice forward thinking features like wireless charging, s pen, AMOLED, best in class camera & video.
Very nice features indeed, the first three are just not features the average consumer buys phones for. The best in class camera and video is yet to be determined with the iPhone 6s Plus results.

I wish I could agree with you, but I'm not sure they know their biggest competition is not Apple. Perhaps they do, but they act like they don't. Maybe they do it because they are the primary brand that people choose if they don't like Apple products?

Whatever the reason may be, they've already done all they can on the high end with their design wild-card (which apparently is not working out for them, now even more so with new iPhones on the way). They should focus their energy on the low end and create 1 phone that could compete with the Moto G's and half-price flagships of the Android world, not 50.

Dear Samsung:

That was my first thought as well!

I'll give a perfect example for me how Google services work in my favor.

I use Facebook but hate the app,I don't know I just got used to using the browser.well now with chrome it pushes Facebook notifications at the top and they come to the phone exactly like they would with the app installed.

I'm pretty sure that Google and chrome are the only ones doing this and it works out great in my favor because before I would need to refresh the browser for any new feeds.

It works both ways and for me Android and Google services work like magic!

That's a very good point. Google services work great for many, many people. But that can be done on any Android device. It doesn't have to be a Samsung phone. Hence my point about hardware, software, and services integration.

But what is wrong with Google services and Android running on Samsung devices?

What exactly is your point about hardware and software? I think you have apples marketing confusing you.

Is Google's sortware and open operating system somehow ruining Samsung's hardware?

I'm just not following, they have multi apps and s pen along with vr working just fine with there hardware.

They are actually doing more with Google's software then Google is doing on nexus devices

You're right, I should clarify myself. There is not much wrong with Google services or Android running on Samsung devices (apart from OS upgrades). My point about hardware and software is the same one Apple makes every time: that they can optimize everything because all their phones use the same technology.

Google's software and OS is not ruining Samsung's hardware, but Samsung phones will never reach their full potential in the same manner as iPhones because Android cannot be optimized for every single device. Perhaps if Samsung had started with Tizen back in the days of the first Galaxy S phone, then they could say the same thing like Apple.

Nope. I even used package disabler to get rid of most of the bloat and it was still laggy coming from an iPhone. Don't get me wrong the hardware is great but if I'm putting down 800 for a phone I want it buttery smooth, no stutters.

For example go into hangouts and just try scrolling. It's common knowledge phones running touchwiz just stutter, maybe you don't notice because all you have used are Samsung phones. But like I said the hardware is 1st class and if you can live with a stuttering flagship phone more power to you.

Zero studders on my note 5.

I do love package disabler. I have been using the heck out of my phone for 4.5hrs and I'm at 94% battery still!
