It remembers me on people decades ago who Are saying „Internet is only for Freaks , it will Never become Mainstream“… 😂

Siri will get so much better with AI!

May be this Video from Androids Point of view might be helpfull for you.
A lot of Apple users are so against major change, their first reaction is to resist it, in a few years time the same people saying they don’t want this “AI nonsense” on their phones will be back on this forum praising what it is doing for them.🤣

Personally cannot wait to have Apple Intelligence on my 15 PM and M1 MBA.
Unfortunately my A12Z iPad Pro will miss out, which is fine as I use my iPhone and MacBook a lot more than my iPad.

Apple makes money on hardware, so leaving most out is expected (we are supposed to buy the latest hardware).

They definitely do not regret it 😂, this is how they get people to upgrade. The people I feel sorry for are the ones that purchased the 15 and 15 plus this year 😔
I assure you we are fine. :) I have a macbook air that can run that crap (and my iPad Pro can as well) if I really need to.

RAM seems to be the main factor, 15 Pro/15 Pro Max have 8GB RAM, M series Macs and M series iPads also all have a minimum of 8GB RAM.

The standard iPhone 15/15 Plus, 14 Pro/14 Pro Max and down all have less than 8GB RAM and hence they are left out.
Thats the Point, yes!

iPhones 15 Pro KI Performance under IOs 18 will go up round about 25%.
The Game is just beginning.
With the nextgen CPU we will See another may be 25% and zack it is total new Level compared to Right now. 👍

I have an iPhone 15 Plus that's less than a year old. I know it won't support AI when 18 iOS is released.

Has anyone heard if Apple is going to offer a special trade-in upgrade to the 16 for those of us who are getting screwed not getting the much-touted, much-promoted AI?

I wrote directly to Tim Cook about this and got a "Thank you for your feedback" reply.

There will be no "special" trade-in offered. If you want an iPhone 16 you'll have to sell your device and make up the difference in price..

I was hoping "rumors" of a fair trade might be floating around. Alas, that seems to not be the case.

Something is troubling about a company that's so successful, so cash-rich, and so dominant, treating a large group of its customers so unfairly --- kinda like, "OK, we got 'em, they already bought the 15 Plus, so f... 'em."

Try trading up with your phone carrier. Last year I traded in my 13 Pro for a 15 Pro and got $1000 in trade in credit. I did this at the apple store. $560 from apple directly for the device and the other $440 from T-Mobile Bill credits over 24 months. Only paid tax up front for the device.

Thank you for the carrier suggestion. We're using Verizon, but we have pre-paid plans that fit how we use our iPhones (we don't live on them :)). Switching to a standard plan might not make financial sense...I'll see what's going on when the 16 is released.
