Youve downloaded the wrong version:
iTunes 9.0 for Windows XP or Vista
iTunes 9.0 for Windows (64-bit)

You need the top one.

The update fubar'd my iPhone. Went through the whole process up til "Verifying Update", then got a "could not update" error and now it's in DFU mode and I can't get out of it.

Disconnect, hold power & home button, re-enter DFU mode, then connect cable.

I think everyone and his/her cousin must be downloading, b/c it's really slow and I'm with Comcast Cable and it's the fastest around the San Francisco Bay Area.....

Guys, if you go to the Spanish Apple site and download iTunes from there it'll take you under 4 minutes, depending on your speed. I just went there after trying to install it on the UK site which was painfully slow. It's now downloading at more than 300kbps.

Pretty much, we're on a 100Mb backbone and I'm getting ~19.5KB/sec right now.
Trying from the spanish site I'm dropping like a rock from 998KB/s.. 500KB/s.. 300KB/s.. 200KB/s... not looking promising.

restarted it, and the download of 3.1 has restarted too on 3% again, was on 29%
