iTunes finished for me, had to download off the site since the software update wasn't showing anything, little over half way done with os 3.1, which I did via "Check for updates" when I had the phone plugged in

Actually just realized I should wait until the os 3.1 stuff is done before I install iTunes 9 haha

iTunes downloaded very quickly from Apple's site but crawled from that direct link in the OP's post. 3.1 took about 5 minutes to download on my 20 mbps fios line (from within iTunes; not direct link).

Im on 21% of 3.1, and its been going for ages ataround 150 kbps.

So a mirror would be great, but it may get overloaded like Apples servers atm.

Open iTunes, connect iphone, on iphone screen on iTunes, Press SHIFT then clikc RESTORE, select the IPSW file then follow on screen prompts

Yes! Backup/Sync before doing this. Then restore the backup you made beforehand

So I downloaded itunes 9 from the link on the first post - UK i think and from the YIT me site.

Is it safe from these sites? Also - is there a difference between the UK version and US version? Sorry for the basic questions - thanks!
