I was wondering how everyone's iTunes Match went.

How many songs were matched, uploaded, and how many errors did you guys get?

Here are my stats:
Total: 6342
Matched: 5114 - 81%
Uploaded: 1184 - 19%
Duplicate: 18
Error: 11
Purchased: 8
Not Eligible: 6
Waiting: 1 (Has been waiting for over 3 hours, so I'm not sure what's going on there)

No. I just highlighted all the ones that gave me an error and then it shows you how many you have selected... Probably easier with my smaller library.

I had a much larger list of errors, but I "added to iCloud" manually and the list shortened down to 11 after a few tries...

For Not Eligible, I made a smart playlist.

My library is pretty well organized, but it still matched more than I was expecting.

It's unfortunate that when you add a song to your library it doesn't match it right away. You have to run iTunes Match and it goes through your whole library. ...I think.

The songs that are duplicates you can right-click and select "Add to iCloud" if you like to upload your duplicates. Perhaps you can also do this with Error or Not Eligible songs?

The reason why songs returned Error for me was pretty obvious. Some of them were just a few seconds or a minute of silence. Some of them I think are actually corrupted files, others are less than 5 seconds. Nothing will be missed.

My Not Eligible songs were either really low bit-rate, music videos, or iTunes LPs.

This is basically from merging three libraries with a lot of overlap (One computer is still uploading, hence the 703 Waiting). 85% is really good considering I have a lot of my own Logic and Garageband songs in my iTunes Library (and instant backup for them!)

I'm jealous. That is quite a tally! I tried to tag all my songs using MusicBrainz Picard and TuneUp, but I still had problems.

I had the same problem with adding music, but I'm glad you can actually use iTunes when it's matching, and it doesn't seem to take up much RAM.

I didn't try adding duplicates to iCloud, but thanks for the heads up. It did give me an excuse to clean up duplicates that I did have though.

My errors were very random... Some were songs that were less than 5 seconds, but I also had two songs from a Fleetwood Mac album with an error, while the rest of the album uploaded.

Not Eligible songs will have to either be re-riped or converted. The bit-rate (under 96kbps) and file size (over 200MB) are the primary reasons for something being ineligible.

As far as the error goes, this could be a problem with the song itself or just simply with the upload. I got most of my songs that showed and error to upload by simply going back through them and selecting "Add to iCloud" one at a time. I suspect that some of the errors are simply from the massive hammering that Apple's servers have been getting since the service launched.

When I delete crappy copies of matched songs that I have to download 256kbps copies, I wish the new songs came with new ID3 tags. ...Sometimes :)

Still waiting on a finish for the total tally. I find it odd that all of Abbey Road matched except a single song. This appears to be happening somewhat regularly with many of my albums.....hmmmm.

I'm getting this same thing. Plenty of albums match except for one or two songs.

Total Songs: 3174

Uploaded: 302, about half of which are not in iTunes so not entirely fair
Ineligible: 1 (It's a silent filler track so I can see why)

Not bad I say - during beta the match % was something like 30%.

I have a feeling it will get better in the coming weeks as more people use the service and Apple tweaks things.

I have no idea why the numbers don't add up.

Process took about 30 or so hours in total.

By the way, they should modify the bitrate restrictions for mono songs. They should be able to be half the filesize of stereo, so half of 96.

If you consider only songs eligible for iTunes Match, it matched almost exactly 2/3 of my collection. I don't consider this too bad, as I have several rare/obscure Dead albums and other stuff that I know iTunes doesn't carry. My biggest complaint is that I often have albums that I ripped from CDs that are patchwork matched/uploaded.

Turns out I had 24 songs that truly were duplicates of a lower quality, so I deleted them. The remaining errors are making me go crazy! Two of them are tracks 3 and 9 from Fleetwood Mac's Kiln House (the rest of album was uploaded). The last is the track "Meat" from a live Phish recording from the album Hampton Comes Alive (the rest of the album was MATCHED!!)

My 'waiting' is grayed out and I can't play it on iTunes, iPhone, or iPod, but it shows up on my iPhone and iPod. It's Rental Car from Beck's Guero.

I know the chances that other people will have the same problems with these specific songs are tiny, but I thought I'd just put it out there...
