Currently on IUP, and just completed the steps in the "For You" section on the app. But none of the steps seem to indicate that what I just did was part of the IUP? It shows 24 months payment via Apple Card. I said "no" for trade-in.

How do I know what I just did was IUP, and not just traditional 24 months finance?
If you went through preapproval with iUP, you would have had several steps to complete including verifying address, date of birth, entering your income, etc. and being presented with the contract at the end right before submitting everything.

Ready!!!

although now I’m regretting the color and memory size. I usually get the newest color!!!😬😬😬
You can still get the sierra blue. You’ll have to wait to edit your selection Friday morning and go through all the model/color/capacity options again but you shouldn’t have any problem getting the one you want 😊

Hope you’re right… I’m used to the old days when stock dwindled in minutes 😂😂

Even though I’m already on the IUP, and have an Apple Card on file?

Can someone who is confident they did this via IUP tell me what their email confirmation says?

If you're on the IUP is there a reason NOT to upgrade each year unless owning the phone outright is the goal?

If you still owe one last payment, will it just charge you on pre-order? It showed my outstanding $54 on the first screen and then after all the prompts it told me I was all set.

Apple is still telling me I have to send in my old phone even though I'm on month 23. Super confused? I'm about to pay it off!

Ahhhh..I see now, you have to really look for the IUP as part of your payment selection.

Same here. This is the first time for me to sign-up for the IUP. Is T-Mobile not eligible for the IUP?
First time IUP signup/pre-approval here.

Just did 2 phones, mine which is AT&T and the SO, who has t-mobile. Both worked like a champ.

Her t-mobile line is still on her parents account and I even used her pop's last 4 social and her phone number while on my AT&T phone to confirm the t-mobile account and it worked perfectly.

just make sure you use the primary account holder's last 4 SSN digits to confirm the line on the account. I did get an error when I used hers and not her dad's ssn last 4 digits.

Sorry, but it sounds like you signed up for the 24 months no interest w/ Apple Card instead of the iUP. They are two separate things. Here’s my email confirmation:

I did you my moms which is who it’s under and still not able to connect. Seems like it’s only a select few of us.

I wish I took a screenshot of the error when I put the wrong SSN digits. this is the screen that gave me an error at first and after using the right 4 digits from the account holder it went right on through.

sorry if that didn’t work for you. Best of luck.

Yeah it’s the correct SSN just not working for me I guess.

Charging me the 12th payment. Kind of frustrating considering I had to wait for Apple to deliver the Pro Max last year after the other models. Am I the only one that feels that way?!

Mine was already set to that. I’ve been in the program for 3 years, so hopefully it’s just a temp glitch or something.

Yeah, I found on the problem (why it didn't auto-populate with the IUP choice)...

Turns out, when I replaced my original iPhone 12 Pro Max (bought via IUP) under AppleCare+, the replacement iPhone was never associated with the IUP. So I'm on hold with Apple now to sort it all out.

You’re likely not the only one. Others have made some gripes about it. I personally am not bothered by it. Terms of the contract say I have to make the equivalent of 12 monthly payments, regardless of Apple’s actual product release schedule. I’ve made 11 payments and will make the 12th when I preorder on Friday. If I don’t like it, I can just pay another way. Apple didn’t guarantee anything.

Hoping someone may be able to weigh in:

When I first did the preapproval, it told me I couldnt be approved and would get an email from Citizens explaining why. I immediately realized I'd forgotten to lift my credit freeze with the 3 reporting agencies. I went and lifted the freeze, re-submitted for approval, and this time it went through and said I was preapproved.

About 2 hours later I got an email from Citizens explaining that they couldn't approve my request because they were unable to access my credit report.

My question is: do you think the email was just on a delay from that first approval attempt that was unsuccessful and I can disregard it now that the Store app is showing I'm all set for purchase Friday? That's what I suspect but it's frustrating to not have received an email confirmation from Citizens saying I was approved. Maybe that'll show up later?

Thanks!

I consider this 12th payment just the equivalent of "depreciation" if you were to have bought your iPhone outright and tried to sell it/trade it for a new model. Otherwise, how else would you account for someone that bought a new iPhone in December, and wanted a new one 10 months later? Gotta pay those 12 payments (aka depreciation), no matter what.
