I have this same issue. No 12 Pro replacement, my serial is just not in the system. I did have two IUP phones, my 11 pro was fully paid off a month ago, but that shouldn’t affect the serial number on the 12 pro…

Please report back here with a fix, I'll do the same.

I left the program with my 11… I just create my own program with AC+… Works out cheaper.

I am ready to go with the 13 :)

I'm going to be in the same boat. I still have my 11 because I returned the 12. I'm planning on just "trading" in my 11 to Apple and maybe applying for the Applecard and doing the monthly payments with that. How are you doing it?

Anyone else stuck in an endless loop in the IUP via the apple store app? I fill out the form for my desired phone, and then it runs my current serial to see if I am eligible...at which point it says "This phone is already paid off!" with a button to then "Buy new iPhone" below it. Click that and it just goes back to the beginning of the process. I can't seem to actually get through the process, but have not seen anyone else facing the same issue.

Yeah, I found on the problem (why it didn't auto-populate with the IUP choice)...

Turns out, when I replaced my original iPhone 12 Pro Max (bought via IUP) under AppleCare+, the replacement iPhone was never associated with the IUP. So I'm on hold with Apple now to sort it all out.

That happened to me a few years ago. Such a pain. Finally someone high up in the AppleCare department got it sorted. Sad to hear they never fixed this for other folks. Hope they fix yours quickly.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. Took many calls and hours on the phone to fix...10 days later it was fixed.

Ugh. they literally cannot fix this. After nearly 2 hours on hold, they try to blame it on iPhone 13 being in pre-order availability only. "Try again on Sept 17" they say. B.S. that ain't going to work, either. I'm having a supervisor call me tomorrow.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I recall being told something similar and had to have a call back too after multiple calls and mass confusion on their end. At the time, I didn’t know it was because I had my iPhone replaced once, and neither did they, so after many hours they happened to find someone who saw the problem. Maybe recommend to that supervisor that this is still a problem for many after all these years. Either way, good luck and I hope it gets sorted.

Thanks. Based on the buy-flow via the app, they already know this is already a potential problem. Via one of the many people I talked to tonight, I got a Citizens One rep, who confirmed "yeah this happens ALL the time, you'll have to talk to AppleCare+ team so they can update your serial number - we cannot". Of course the AC+ team couldn't/didn't help.View attachment 1831659

^^ Of course, after this screen (with my current/correct serial number + IMEI), I get an error that my iPhone is not currently enrolled in the IUP and I can buy a new one outright.

Oh, cool, never saw that screen before and they definitely didn’t have it when I had my issue. But that sucks it’s not working. Maybe they’ll be able to resolve it for you quickly.

Edit: Found this old thread with all the folks having this issue way back when. Seems like it was a pain for them too https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...-my-iphone-is-not-enrolled-yet.2133951/page-7

Good luck. It’s a miserable process and the majority of people you will deal with will be clueless; including supervisors.

i would email Tim Cook. It will be assigned to the “executive team”. They will get it done.

That's my next step. I'm awaiting a call from a supervisor, but not hopeful. If I go the executive escalation route, that will certainly take 3-5 days. Maybe I get a smart supervisor that can fix in 24 hours?

I’m in the same boat as you all. My phone wasn’t actually replace because when the replacement came, it wouldn’t boot up so I sent back the replacement back and kept my original device. Now I’m getting the “this phone is not enrolled” error. If I click trade a phone in and then tap my device it pops up and tells me it’s enrolled but then the next screen same not enrolled error.

I spent an hour and a half on with Apple support yesterday and the last person I spoke too had seen this before and knew how to handle it. The only problem was she needs to submit it as a ticket and it does take 3-5 days but she was going to try and rush it. She said it’s directly related to the AppleCare issue of the phone being “replaced” even though it wasn’t.

I actually also emailed Tim Cook with the case number just to see if it’s possible to get it sped up at all. Sucks!

Now that I know you have to have 256GB for the ProRes, I want to switch to 256 instead of 128.

Does anyone know if I cancel my pre-approval, if it will allow me to go thru pre-approval again and modify the device, or am I going to have to race thru it Friday morning?

You can change specs when you finish things up Friday AM, don't do anything now, change it to the phone you want then (doing the same myself from 128 to 256). The preapproval is fine as it is.

I got a call back from a supervisor who actually seemed very aware of the problem/resolution. He said when my replacement iPhone serial number was switched over, the AC+ coverage was correctly updated, but the Citizens One info was not (as expected).

He said he sent the correction request to Agreement Administration to fix, but they take 3-5 days. I just checked, and I'm still not able to upgrade. So the patient waiting begins.

Sounds like we won’t be able to preorder. I saw someone else post that they were going to order a full priced one for in store pick up then cancel the order in store and have the Apple rep just do it through the upgrade program so that they can trade the current phone in under the program. Which I think would technically work because they KNOW the phone is enrolled in the program, it’s just the system itself isn’t showing it through the automated system.

The other thing that sucks is that I already made my 12th payment but since I can’t preorder through the upgrade program, It won’t cause a hold on the next payment which means on the 22nd it will still auto pull a 13th payment.

I'm not too concerned about the payments situation. I can sort that out after I get my grubby hands on a new phone

I'm wondering what happens if you order a new 13 via IUP (and say no trade-in), then go into the store after your new phone/agreement starts and have them send it back and cancel your 'old' IUP account, which should be fixed.

Alternately, the trade in offer of $790 is more than I owe ($741) via Citizens One. At this point, I wouldn't even care if they gave me $790 in Apple Store credit to spend in the future.

I also did my pre-order set-up as well, but when prompted to accessories, I didn't see any

Belkin UltraGlass Screen Protector for iPhone 13 | 13 Pro.

I’m going with Verizon and will be getting a $800 bill credit towards the iPhone pro 13. The remainder will be done in the monthly charges. Is there a way to pay the $200 remainder balance up front so that im not paying a monthly charge? I know the bill credits will stay, I don’t have an issue with that.

I’m not sure how it’ll be handled. I just hate not being able to preorder the correct way. Keep me posted if you hear anything!

Here's my plan:

If in 24 hours (i.e. Thursday), I'm unable to do my IUP reservation, I'm going to pay off my Citizens One loan for $741. Then, I'm going to start a "new" IUP agreement tomorrow, with no trade-in. Then, I'll make a reservation at the Apple Store for next week to trade in my iPhone 12 Pro Max for the stated $790, and use that in my Apple balance to buy a Apple Watch Series 7 later this year.

I am based in the UK.
  • I take out a Apple finance deal (and AC+) for 24 months.
  • I settle the old financial deal to own to phone outright.
  • I sell the old phone to a tech shop who offers the best cash amount.
  • I always get to keep the box and accessories as the tech shop never ask for these, they only want the phone.
  • I call Apple to seek a refund of the unused portion of the old AC+ plan.
  • Rinse and repeat.

Well I just Googled what IUP was and while I'd love to join the program I can't go to an actual physical Apple store due to health conditions. That sucks. Surely Apple should accommodate people with disabilities a bit better?

In the USA you do not have to go to an Apple Store any more to do this. That was a requirement the first two years of the program. I helped my mom become a member when she did not live anywhere near an Apple Store. The new iPhone was mailed to her.

Thank you. I'll see what I can find out about it in the UK. It did say that new users would have to go to an Apple Store but I might have misunderstood something.

Mine is on the 18th, one day after pre-order. Is the Upgrade date based on when we pre-order on when the iPhone ships?

How badly do you want the 13? Can you hold off and finish off your minimum payments before being eligible to upgrade?

If you take it, then you are paying for something that you are not benefiting from (the use of your current phone).

It's why I left the IUP and arranged my own upgrade program hehe, I have that flexible to adapt to early/delayed releases.
