"Ok, first, about Quicktime... Apple has to actually PAY for the licensing to put in the ability to encode in certain formats (mpeg4). That's why the pro version isn't free. The free player that Apple gives you is fine. It plays the movies, and that's about it. The pro version has more features, and makes QuickTime more than just a movie 'player'. So, what is so wrong about charging for something that Apple had to pay for? What do you want next? FCP for free, because that's what you think QuickTime should be? I think not... Besides, it's only $30.

Now, for your rant about 10.2 being a bug fix...
Did you want Apple to wait until August 2002 to release their FIRST version of OS X? If they did, you wouldn't have but a handfull of apps for os X. Apple has been working on OS X, refining it, and making it better. If you want such a good OS, make one yourself. Did you really think that SMB browsing, iCal, iChat, rendezvous, quartz extreme, inkwell, and every other new feature was supposed to be in 10.0? You must be pretty stupid to think that. Sure, we all could've used spring loaded folders from the start, but with a new OS, Apple was working on making the thing work right. 10.0 was ok, and 10.1 was great for me. It takes time to develop an OS. You can't create the best OS in the world in 7 days.

Just pay $129 and be glad you have an OS better than everything else. and stop bitching about how 10.2 is what the Mac OS should've been... Is a BMW what the Model-T should've been"

inkwell, well, since alot of graphic artists use tablets, i'd sya that should have beent here from the start. smb, well, that wasd there from the start, it just sucked, thus showing how jaguar is an update, no upgrade.

and when was final cut pro $30? oh you mean quictime, for such amazing high end features as, play movie full screen. you want me to pay 30 dollars to play my movie full screen, are you joking? i know it has other features, but that one should be free. and final cut pro, if you look at my post i said i'd have no problem paying for apps cds, just not a update to the os!!! so don't yell about something i agree with.

"Is a BMW what the Model-T should've been"

no, but would you release a car to the public that had no steering wheel, or wheel that were half flat, or couldn't go above 60 in speed? but you promised and showed off that it could do all these things and had such features, then next year, after struggling with fixes and updates, have the car salesman come to you and say "ya know, i have a fix for that, it'll only cost you the same price you paid for that car, and look at everything it has too." at first you're excited at how you'll finally have that car in working order, and you can go on the qew, if you know what road that is in canada... at 90mph now, and you can drive for days without your tires going flat or your transmission dieing. but then you think about it, and you say, hey wait a minute, didn't you say my car would do all these things before, and they never did, don't i have like a warranty that fixes these problems, so i don't have to buy a new car? that's exactly how this is, apple released a beta os, with tons of problems, it gave them enough time to fix them all, and maybe i was a sucker, being one of only 20% of mac users using osx from the start, i got took by apple the used car salesman, kept telling me this new shiny car would last me years in driving, and then the new model comes out and i'm back at square one, hearing the smae thing, and maybe this time it's true, maybe the car/os works great, but all in all, i'm paying the same prioce twice,a nd either way, i feel pretty ripped off. apple the car salesman...
