Whats this queue function? I have never heard of this...re springing and re booting and all that is a pain.

there has always been a queue feature (as far as I can remember since the iOS 3 days since that's when I got into the iOS ecosystem)

Now , what may be the repercussions of doing it this way and why do the "Jailbreak nazis" not approve of it?

The same reason the anti-gay, anti-women, anti-african american nazis come up with... a bunch of nonsense spouting of inaccurate info in efforts to support their case.

Good job getting it done the easy way. If the JB nazis want to do a complete restore, let them. I'll stick with a simple and easy upgrade in times when I am able. :)

The ONLY thing I miss from 7.0.4 jailbreak compared to 7.1.2 is the phone buttons and full screen contact pics when receiving calls.
7.1x is definitely smoother in every way.

When iOS 8 is rolled out to the public, app support will be an issue for iOS 7, and don't forget that some devs might chose to have their apps supporting iOS 7.1 and higher (just like they do 6.1 or higher nowadays), and you being stuck on 7.0.4 is going to be a problem since the iOS 8 jailbreak won't be out

I would update

An interesting point, and the first one I find compelling. I had no idea that some apps might not work because some devs might require 7.1 or higher. How often does that happen??

Literally EVERY day. And it gains speed every time a new update is released. 6.1 is the current "baseline" and that wasn't the case even as recently as 6 months ago.

The question isn't WHY you should update, it's (with an available jailbreak) WHY NOT?

There is literally NO reason to not (besides the time involved... and I absolutely LOL at the people who think 30 minutes simply cannot be found. It's a lie, and everyone that really IS busy knows it is, but whatever).

If there was some risk, or some compelling feature at 7.04, or even a rapidly closing window (what if Apple closed signing of 7.12 during the 10 minutes you decided to update?!?! OMFZG!!!) fine, but there's not.

It's snappier, will receive better future compatibility, and is FREE and safe to do... So find an excuse not to if you must, but it's stupid. Sorry. It just is.

And not to mention that 7.1.2 is jailbreakable. You have been given a chance to update to the possibly last jailbreakable firmware before iOS 8, that gives better battery life and performance, and that will 100% support more apps then 7.0.x when iOS 8 apps start rolling out

Yeah I was reluctant to update like the OP, but it was incredibly easy and fast once the updated firmware was downloaded. Totally worth it.

Personally, I updated for the bug fixes. I've had my BT Keyboard start lagging terribly on occasion and that's one of the things that's supposed to be fixed. Unless you need an app that requires 7.1, you probably don't need to update, but that doesn't mean you wouldn't benefit from updating.

Ironically, updating to 7.1.x broke one of my app store apps, lol. it was an app i've been using since iOS 6 for caching youtube videos. Was taken down long time ago, and at $0.99, it was a steal!

i really liked it because it allowed you to manage them into "folders", or I guess you could call them playlist

I ended up purchasing ProTube for $1.99 on cydia to cache youtube videos. It's not ideal since everything downloads to the same "folder" but it works.

Everyone who owns a 64 bit device DEFINITELY should upgrade! The improvements to safari memory caching and constant reloading has been fixed. It's performance is now way beyond what I was hoping for from Apple. Pages hardly ever reload now even if I use multiple apps for extended periods of time. Whenever I open safari, all my tabs are still in memory and don't have to reload. It's truly remarkable how well they fixed this atrocious issue.

For anyone with 64 bit devices, this fix alone is well worth the hassle of restoring and jailbreaking.

Ok now what about the weird status bar overlay issue i didn't have with 7.0.6? and everything that uses a Info.plist is acting weird.

Read that WB needs to be updated too cuz its acting strange as well. Classic badges hardly works too. Should have never upgraded!

i second that i have some stuff going wrong in the status bar as well. Data meter no longer displays correctly . Only other thing i noticed is i do not automatically connect to known wifi networks . i have to manually connect each time i am near and that is a new PITA . Everything else that's been said about the good stuff is true . Much quicker and safari rocks .
