I've just been to my local Apple store to see the iPad Mini 7 for myself. Jelly scroll is still present although slightly reduced. It's not so wavy but still tilts. Surprisingly it's just as bad on the OLED iPad Pro 11".

It's enough to make me pass again. I'm looking at the Lenovo Legion Tab 2024 as I'm over larger tablets.
I was also very surprised to see it match the 11” Pro. Everything else about the OLED screen is better, but this particular issue is equally present in both models.

With the 11”, it’s obvious they would orient the display controller to avoid jelly in landscape so they can sell the keyboard accessory. For the Mini…I don’t get it. It should be the same as Minis 1-5.

I couldn't find jelly scroll, even trying those insane unrealistic scrolling speeds.
Nothing.
Scrolled really fast and held the iPad as far as possible.
Nothing
Why scroll fast? It can be seen through normal usage and normal scroll speed. I don't need to scroll up and down really fast or video it on slow-mo to see the jelly. The videos of people hyper-speed scrolling are trying to mask the issue and say "look, it's fixed".

It's great news for you and others who don't see it. Why even try to find it as once seen it cannot be unseen.

I can't claim to understand the phenomenon of how some see it and some don't as it is present at a hardware level due to the design and parts choices Apple made. It's the same with PWM. Guess we are all wired slightly differently.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, but this is where people like to complain.

Me neither but plenty others are disgusted by it and that reputation of not caring enough about it stays with the device in enthusiast forums like these of course.

Pretty much all of my LCD tablets have some type of jelly scrolling. It doesn't bother me in the least as I know it's there and I don't really care.

I have an iPad mini 6 and mini 7 side by side, and there is no discernible difference in jelly-scrolling between the two. So I would say it has not been fixed. Sure, you can scroll very slowly, but that's not a great experience either as the text gets super blurry.

I am biased though as my other iPads are OLED and my eyes are used to those amazing displays and refresh rates. I would gladly pay a premium for an iPad mini Pro with an OLED display, FaceID and 1TB of storage. A smaller sized iPad should not = a so-so display, IMHO.

While the jelly scroll is still there it is significantly reduced. Im not sure why you think it’s the same. You must be very sensitive to the effect.

I feel like it's been reduced, but I don't have my old Mini 6 to compare it to. It's still there, but doesn't bug me much. Didn't bug me on the 6 either.

I know some may act indignant with their demands and such but it seems that the jelly scrolling should have been remedied entirely for the fact it was a long-standing complaint and the price of these tablets. There really is no excuse.

It is remedied. Even the initial devices were fine, it only happened on a few. None of our work ones had the issue, no display model in a store that I saw had it, mine didn't have it, the ONLY time I saw jelly scrolling was my friends model.

Like all issues, it's a tiny amount of people with a problem being very vocal.

This being the internet circular discussions like this will never die. Especially when people reflect upon their own perspectives of an issue and speak dismissively about other perspectives. Is what it is I guess.

I don't doubt your word on having some that do not have this issue. However, if some people do, then there is a problem that was not fully resolved. Are some made different than other and that is where the fault remains? No matter. Jelly scrolling should happen ZERO percent of the time if the problem was addressed fully. As for your devices, honestly glad you have ones that don't suffer this issue.

Lest we forget, it was observed and reported enough that....

I still don't understand why some users who own the iPad Mini 6 or 7 feel the need to defend it simply because they don't notice the jelly scroll effect. If it doesn’t bother you, that’s great—you're enjoying the product without any issues. However, for others like myself, who have sensitive vision, we genuinely want to own and use this device but find it uncomfortable due to the persistent jelly scroll effect—even on the iPad Mini 7. Why is it unreasonable for us to expect or hope that Apple would address this issue to eliminate it entirely? This issue has been proven to be present at a hardware level and I'm yet to see one iPad Mini 6/7 that doesn't have jelly scroll - you don't get to wish this fact away just because you don't see it.

Also, it is seen at any scroll speed. Again, why make it seem that it's just users looking for issues by speed scrolling?!

I barely see it on my Mini 7 and it doesn't bother me at all. It's no biggie as every iPad I have ever owned has it.

Can't say I've scrolled fast enough for it to be a problem on my 6th gen Mini. My daily machine has a 360hz screen so I do know what a very smooth display feels like. Not sure if there's variances from panel to panel and some are worse than others?

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who don't see it no matter how fast I scroll. 🤷‍♂️

Now let's say this problem exists, is there an official number/percentage about it? or is it a problem that only a few forum members and some "tech" YouTube channels who complain about?

Does there need to be? Apple already commented with the iPad Mini 6 that "it's normal behaviour". This is an acknowledgement that it exists from the manufacturer.

It's "you're holding it wrong" mk2.

The only variable factor is whether your eyes/brain are sensitive enough to see it or not.
